The discussion is pretty moot, love had 1 yr left on his deal. He wouldn’t have played in Cleveland if they didn’t have lebron.

But if he was willing to sign extension then yeah I think clearly they would’ve done the deal, he had a rep as a top 10-15 player then and him/Irving would’ve made cavs relevant in the east (atleast on paper at time that would’ve been thinking)
Yeah I guess Cavs management sucks enough to be vying for 6th-8th in the East

Kyrie/Love would have been definition of first round playoff purgatory

Love had rep as top 10-15 player then, the east was also terrible then (especially with Miami getting old and George fracturing his leg that offseason)

And love probably was a top 10-15 player in a high usage role on a pretty good team. The game changed a lot in his prime which made him less valuable.

His outlet passinf was Wes Unseldesque then teams started valuing transition D more

His offensive rebounding became devalued because teams don’t send 2 guys to the boards anymore to value transition D as well

The weakness in his D is pick and roll D which became way more prominent in pace and space era

Just not a very good 3rd option on a team with 2 guys to score already

He can’t play C either and natural PF position has become extinct as well basically

I remember when Bulls trade for Nikola Vucevic---haven't seen Chicago sports fans that happy and wrong over a trade since Jay Cutler.
Jason Hayward
Not a trade but one of the worst FA contracts in sports history

Also kind of hard to blame chi fans for their love affair with cutler .
That franchise is so historically bad at the QB position he’s probably the 3rd or 4th best QB they have ever had since the leather helmet era ended .

And yes I know Cutler sucked .

But I mean name 1 good QB they have had since you were born .
At least Detroit had Stafford .
He would have been the Goat in Chicago

You've gotta go back to Jim McMahon. Guy wasn't great but he was the perfect gamer to lead one of the best teams ever assembled.

Yeah I dunno why people saying Middleton could play in the next rd if they advance. He basically has a similar injury to what kept Durant out for 6 weeks earlier this year in a sprained MCL....That's no joke. Not even sure he could go in the finals.

Middleton remains out with a grade 2 sprain of the MCL in his left knee and the Bucks have given no official update. However, early in the week there had been rumors the Bucks were optimistic Middleton could return if the series went long enough. However, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst shot that down in a recent appearance (hat tip Real GM)

“Earlier this week, the folks I was talking to were giving me some optimism about Middleton playing this weekend, but that has not happened. That has not developed,” Windhorst said. “And now I would say there’s pessimism about Sunday, and frankly, I have been told that even if the Bucks advance to the conference finals, there’d be pessimism he’d be ready to start.”

Is Iguodala going to make it back for the Warriors? Otto Porter got hurt the other night so they are really down to six playable guys. They have extra rest for Game One, but have played poorly on one day's rest so you might keep an eye on that especially with a short bench.

I doubt it re Iggy, neck is messed up. Even if he can play, he's so old, how much could he really contribute at this point?

Porter would probably be their 5th guy in a lot of instances, maybe he can comeback. His foot injury has been lingering though, it isn't a new injury so tough to say.

Looney/Green against the teams in the next rd doesn't seem like a good lineup combination on either end.

Porter coming back in not too long to help the Warriors win the championship . Sorry man :)

Great job on predicting the bucks/Celtics. Remember you saying they’d zig zag all the way until Milwaukee wins game 7

He was Gardner Minshew at best .

So yea that makes McMahon probably top 3 QB in chi history .
If Fields learns how to throw a forward pass he will be king of Chicago
