3-6 years ago in Boston there were tons of good games, not sure what it's like now. Cambridge is a good spot to look

If he runs it right (and has two tables) you better believe that's the only job he needs. He's doing well. He might work another job but he probably doesn't need to if he can keep the game going.

BTW what helped us is we had an older crowd. Down here most our players were retired. As a result we started by 2PM in the afternoon. That's nice. A lot of games down here now start in the evening, they don't rake nothing like we used to rake. By 8PM we've already dropped about a dime down the hatch.

I do this as a side "business" you are correct a person can make a great living just doing this if they run a good game. I have been doing this for quite a while. We have a good mixture of retirees and younger guys playing for a living. We run two nights a week with two tables. We routinely run 12+ hours, some games much longer.

When I was in Costa Rica I went into a poker room at a hotel. There was 5-6 tables. I think the buy in at most tables was a few hundred, but there were two tables in a back room behind glass. I assumed the buy in there was a bunch more?

Anyhow they had a buffet table for the players who busted out.

It was kinda funny, I was there early in the night, anjd all the guys at the buffet table were gringos.

It looked like a place were the Costia Rican locals fleeced the tourist.

I left.
