Yeah we would do that now and then too. Problem is if you start at 2PM people will get there late, they drift in. Once the game starts it's on, it goes like hell. Sometimes you'd have a problem starting it though, some wouldn't want to play shorthanded. As a result a little bonus like this gets them there when you want them. You make up for it in rake and the players get paid, so it's really a win-win for everyone.

It's very nice set up, seats comfortable, large custom tables.. has like this hard plastic for your chips, and nice new felt,even a automatic card shuffler in the table, except its only used when there is a paid dealer....
cash games are over aggressive which is why I don't play, only tournaments....

I make a good living legitimately. This is just something I do on the side. With that being said, there is a good amount of money to be made if you run a good game. Games come and go within months all the time. My game is ran well and has survived for quite a while. My dealers and the person who covers for me when I'm not there make a decent living.
If he runs it right (and has two tables) you better believe that's the only job he needs. He's doing well. He might work another job but he probably doesn't need to if he can keep the game going.
BTW what helped us is we had an older crowd. Down here most our players were retired. As a result we started by 2PM in the afternoon. That's nice. A lot of games down here now start in the evening, they don't rake nothing like we used to rake. By 8PM we've already dropped about a dime down the hatch.
