Ended up making a pretty thin call on the river last night to drag a 13+k pot, then got verbally abused for my call from a kid that was 95lbs soaking wet. I'm usually pretty even headed. The kid wouldn't settle down, I tried to explained to him numerous times that if this loss made him that upset then he was playing well above the stakes he should be. I'm not a "tough guy" nor do I look for fights. I do pride myself in staying pretty active and am in what most would consider pretty good physical shape. I let the kid keep running his mouth while railing the game (just watching, not rebuying.) Eventually I had enough as well as did the rest of the remaining players in the game. I called the floor over and asked them to either remove the obnoxious kid, or I would have to. The floor insisted that the kid leave the cash area. He left while telling me "I will catch you somewhere else and take my money back." I laughed it off as the kid is literally a foot shorter and less than half my weight. After cashing out a hour later (FYI...+22k, all of my losses from the previous night plus a considerable amount.... Woohoo!!!) I went upstairs and ran into a friend at the craps table. We played for a bit and guess who walks up obviously considerably drunker and considerably "tougher." He decides this time to start pointing his finger into my face (he had to reach above his scrawny head to do so) and continuing to "threaten" me. I looked over the top of his head to the pit boss who was staring this way from the commotion. I told him "get this kid out of my face before I do something about it." The kid immediately started walking to the door screaming "come on outside, I'm whipping your ass and taking my cash back." Now, this has now went down twice in front of people I see numerous times a year at various poker series. I can't be "that guy" that got punked by the little kid from now until eternity at every series I see these people. We go outside, surprisingly enough no security follow. The kid swings at me, I grab the kids neck and pin him against the wall. Security now swarms. As myself and a few aquintances are explaining the situation LV's finest show up and put us both in cuffs. When it was all said and done, they released us both and told us to leave the RIO.
Guess who is seated in the 3 seat at my table in today's tournament? Should be interesting!
