I was quite possibly at a dream table today. Everyone at the table would be considered just recreational amateurs there to have a good time and enjoy the series. There was 2 maybe three competent players at the table. Almost everyone was drinking and the conversation was fun and light hearted. I actually enjoyed my table and the people that were there for the most part. Unfortunately I ran extremely cold and couldn't get anything going. Early in the first blind level I ran KK into AA and got away from it fairly cheap, I could have easily went broke there. I ran my stack back up to nearly 7k when the following hand went down. I'm in middle position and blinds are 100-200 I pick up AK of clubs. I make it 550, it folds to the button, he calls and the BB come along. There is 1750 in preflop. Flop comes A, K, 8 rainbow. I lead for 950, Button calls, BB jams all-in and has both myself and the button covered. Before I can call off the Button heaves his stack that also covers me into the middle. I could possibly be behind here to the button, but I decide to call off. Hands are exposed. BB has A8 as does the button. Amazing, I'm fading just the lone 8. I'm actually kind of feeling sorry for both of these weekend warrior types that were both having such a great time. I hope this tough hand didn't ruin their time at the WSOP. I'm hoping they don't leave the table with a sour taste in their mouth. I don't want these guys to not return next year to take another shot. And you know it..........BOOM! 8 on the river! Good luck fellas! I am going to play cash now.
