Illinois has more talent than Minnesota. That is not debatable. Is Illinois a good team though? No.

I will say Minnesota deserves their ranking because they are winning, but they have not beaten a good team and aren't a good team themselves. A good team wouldn't be a 20 point dog to the top 5 teams, and Minnesota would.

Minnesota fans should just be happy with their success this year and not get carried away. If you want the truth it's that Minnesota is at the very best 6th in their conference in terms of talent. Ohio St, Penn St, Mich St, Wisconsin, and Illinois all have more talent. Talent doesn't necessarily mean you'll have the better record though, just ask Wisconsin and Illinois.

Illinois would be favored on the road at Minnesota. But Minnesota is in the Top 25. That's a joke, plain and simple. And that was the point of my thread. Same goes for Northwestern. Sorry to Minny fans. You have a great coach. He played in the Rose Bowl for the undefeated Big 10 champion Illini. I like him a lot, and he would have been hired here if Zook had turned us down. He is a great recruiter and a winner. You guys will be good for a long time. But you're not good yet.

Illini, IMO Minny is definitely top 25 worthy...especially after winning yesterday to improve to 7-1. 7-1 Big Ten teams get ranked. It's that simple. On another note, I agree w/ you regarding "Juice". Is there any chance he gets benched?

Juice is Zook's golden boy. He was his first 5 star recruit, and he probably promised him he would build the program around him. He was coveted by Ohio St and many other good teams, and I guess Zook wanted him so bad that he feels he must honor his commitment to him. He is a great kid, but he just isn't that good of a QB. The backup McGee is a much better thrower, and more of a true QB. I think he would be a ton better than Juice, if he could start and be confident that his job is safe, like what Juice has. It's a shame, because he is going to ride the bench all these years, and then may get beat out his senior year by the guy we just signed. To be honest, I would put Juice at running back and start McGee. Juice needs to be on the field and that would work. Never going to happen, though. There was a little bit of a controversy last year when McGee got time, but it's clear that he's never going to play while Juice is there.

That being said, Zook was pissed at his press conference yesterday, and you could tell he was frustrated with Juice. Maybe, just maybe, he gives McGee a chance. Doubt it. But we can dream, can't we?

As far as the Illini go, they are talented but they are one of those teams that shoot themselves in the foot over and over agian. Juice is the last of that teams problems. Up until last week he had the highest rating of all the QB's in the Big10. Yeah, that's a guy who needs to ride the pine. When your defense can't stop WISCONSIN on 3rd and 17, your QB is the least of your concerns.
