I think many have not watched Minny play this year. I am not trying to imply they are world beaters, but they beat Illinois and while Illini will tell you it was because of turnovers, Illinois failed to punch it in from the 1 yard line on 2 straight plays.

Also, it wasn't like Illinois was dropping the ball because of the air, Minny was causing the turnovers.

To compare the OSU/Purdue and OSU/Minny game is a mistake.

Minnesota will win this game because Purdue can't stop anybody. Minnesota will be able to stop Purdue just enough to win the game. I see this being one the higher scoring big 10 games of the season

Minnesota is the play here.
I've seen almost every Minny game. They have a great coach, and I like them. But they are not worthy of 1 single vote in the Top 25. It's fucking embarassing that a single sportswriter could vote them in. OVERRATED to the max. I'm betting Purdue. Not big, but Minny is worthy of a fade here.

I guess the question is can Minnesota play 2 good road games in a row? And the other question is can Purdue play a good game at all this year?

Northwestern ranked at this point is a joke too. Best team they've played was MSU at home and got stomped.

This game is fishy like last week's Rutgers and UCONN game. Rutgers was 1-5 and going against 5-1 UCONN and Rutgers was favored by 1.5 and won 12-10 for the cover even though UCONN shanked a bunch of field goals. Here we have a 2-5 team favored over a ranked 6-1 team. I usually love that play for college hoops (unranked at home favored over rank team), but haven't really tried it for football.

As someone said, most of the ranked teams are jokes this year. The last 7 ranked teams are all a joke, having Ok St and Tex Tech in the top 10 is a joke, having LSU ranked so high is a joke, and having three non-BCS teams in the top 15 is a joke. Hell, having Bama at #2 is a joke because they're probably the 4th best team in their conference. The one thing I can say is that at least Bama beat some teams to get there. They might not have the best team imo, but they won the games on the field.

This years NCAA is pretty weak imo. A few very strong teams, but after them it's very weak. Teams with flashy offenses like Ok St, Tex Tech and Missouri gain the publics respect, but none can hang with really good teams. That's why mizzou has lost big to every good team they've played the past two years and Ok St and Tex Tech will get exposed very soon.

Okie St is legit. That being said, there is no way I'm betting against Texas.

Are you people retarded (that means you, Illini).

Take a look at the "others receiving votes," and tell me who deserves to replace Minnesota? That's what I figured.

Solid team. Much improved team. Top 25? Get the fuck outta here.

Yeah, I know......they beat my Illini. But Illinois wins that game 9 times out of 10, and Illinois isn't very good.

Ok this is like my first post here, i'v been following allot of people here for a while now and have just decided to start posting. i had to chime in on this.
This sounds like your still pissed about them beating your team. First, Minn at 6-1 su and 5-1 ats is as good as these records indicate. Second, These are not stats of a bad team no matter what teams you have played 29 ppg 18 pa +16 turn over ratio. this is a disciplined team that will take the ball from you and will not turn the ball over. Third the only thing Purdue has going for them is the fact that this is being played at there home. Minn wins this by at least 7 points.

Having USC in the top 5 is the biggest joke. They were ALREADY exposed. They lost to Oregon Freaking State

Hi Dan T Go Hogs

As for my GG, yes they're in an unfamiliar place, i.e. Top 25. Do they belong there? Maybe not, but since this whole thing is so subjective what other 6-1 tm would you rather have there? The record is what it is, they've beaten the tms they should and lost to one of the 2 best in the B10. I'll tell you this and I've watched this tm since before Paul Giel, they have turned it around on D more than any tm in Gopher history in 1 yr. Are they top echelon yet? No, but I do think IF Brewster keeps recruiting the way he has, they will be. Now for Purdue, Ross Ade is a very tough place historicly for the GG. Our gms w/the Boilers have been hi scoring, and w/Painter & Weber going @ it should be this yr too. IMO except for PSU there is no better combo in the conf. than Weber to Decker. I can only dream what might have been had Floyd stayed home. This line has fluctuated from +1, -1, to PK. My pal GS like Pur. for a 3 star. As Dan T, my old UA buddy will tell you I DON'T ever bet w/my heart. When it comes to $$ I'm very objective. Sometimes you can be too close to a tm to get a clear picture, this may be the case here, but I'm playing MN @ PK for a med. $$ wager. 34/27. BOL to all even Illini & GS.

Illini I expect better from you. You just sound like a pouty, whiny illinois fan.

Right now, with what they have done this season, they deserve to be in the TOP 25. They are 6-1, I don't really care what their SOS is, bottom line is that until they are beat, they deserve the ranking. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!

As for Northwestern I think they suck ass too but again with what they have done they belong in the TOP 25. You guys are not giving enough credit to the Big Ten. You have to realize that voters are going to look at records. If a team is 6-1 and plays in the Big Ten, they are going to be ranked regardless of who they have actually faced.

So while I think both suck and both are going to finish out of the TOP 25, they both deserve to be there right now based on what they have done.

Just telling the truth. I could be a homer and say that the Big Ten is a great conference and point to the teams we have in the Top 25 that prove it, but that would be laughable.

Illinois is A LOT better than Minnesota, and Illinois shouldn't sniff the top 25. I guess the tards that vote point to records and say that a 6-1 team should be ranked, but whatever. To me, the Top 25 should be the best 25 teams in the country. Minny isn't close. Yeah, they beat Illinois, and the games do count. But does a fluke win make you worthy of a ranking?

The problem is the entire system is flawed, which is why you have teams like this in the TOP 25. Under the system they deserve to be there.

There's No Automatice W OR L On Their Remaining Sched.

@ Pur. & Wisc., home NW, Mich, & Iowa. Big "IF", they:missingte handle Purdue, now -2 @ BM, then I can see W's vs NW & Mich.! If this tm finishes 9-3, that would be the biggest 180 in GG history.

Since Paul Giel huh? You go back a few years Mr. Silver man.

I haven't thought about him in years. I saw him "tear up" the Badgers at Camp Randal back in, I beleive it was fall of 1953. He ran from the [single wing]. He was a true all-american (does anyone know if he is still alive?)
