Breaking news this morning...........

http://sports.yahoo.com/golf/pga/news?slug=ap-canadiandoctor-doping&prov=ap&type=lgns

Your kidding, right? I was hopeful when I first saw that story that you might have reserved judgment this time because there is NO EVIDENCE and NO ONE saying Tiger Woods ever used PED's, let alone from this doctor.

Do you know the facts of the case against the doctor? Chances are you don't, so I will summarize it for you.

1) Dr. Galea was NEVER stopped at the border with HGH and Actovegin, his assistant was the one stopped.

2) HGH and Actovegin are completely, 100% LEGAL in Canada (as they should be in the US, but as Dr. Galea says you can go down to local gym and get them without even really trying).

3) Dr. Galea has treated hundreds of athletes, and is known for a revolutionary new rehabilitation technique called platelet-rich plasma injection therapy, in which blood is spun in a centrifuge and then reinjected in the joints for faster healing. According to the World Anti-Doping Agency, this technique is well within the new set of guidelines which were set recently to deal with blood spinning.

4) Perhaps most important, there is NO EVIDENCE that Tiger ever received anything else from Dr. Galea than the blood spinning technique when he was rehabbing his knee and the people monitoring his rehab thought that it was taking longer than it should, so they seeked additional treatment to speed the process along.

Until there is concrete evidence, I believe that we should hold judgment. The original story on ESPN was borderline libel, and frankly a lot of the stories still are. To pull Tiger from a list of HUNDREDS of respected athletes who have used Dr. Galea in the past is not only completely ridiculous, but also overwhelmingly reckless.

Tiger's agent, Mark Steinberg -- presumably flooded with other issues relating to his client -- wrote in an e-mail to the paper, when asked about the matter, "I would really ask that you guys don't write this? If Tiger is NOT implicate, and won't be, let's please give the kid a break."

33 years old and his agent is calling tiger a kid....
comical.

the steroids would explain his temper tantrums on the golf course (cursing, throwing clubs)....roid rage.
also tiger got real muscular...how did he have time to work out so much when he was banging so many whores... roids? HGH? PEDs? also tiger going bald pretty quick..another sign..

and railbird who knows his stuff i believe said he thought tiger was taking PEDs years ago.

after this is done, NIKE might be the only sponsor left..
Only way Phil Knight drops Tiger is if Woods kills someone.

Are PGA golfers subject to any kind of drug testing?
began in July 2008. it's random and they have a list of banned substances.

The program encompasses PGA Tour, Champions Tour and Nationwide Tour players.

Players are chosen randomly, without prior notice, and can be tested at tournaments or out of competition.

Some of the substances on the banned list: anabolic steroids, hormones, diuretics and other masking agents, drugs of abuse (marijuana, cocaine), stimulants, beta blockers.

Samples are sent to a lab at UCLA, a World Anti-Doping Agency-certified testing facility. Results from the lab will go to The National Center for Drug Free Sports (which conducts the tests). The results are then sent to the PGA Tour.

The commissioner will have discretion in applying penalties, which could range from disqualification to fines to suspension. For example, a player found guilty of using recreational drugs could be required to undergo counseling.

The maximum penalties: up to a one-year suspension for a first violation; up to five for the second; and a possible lifetime ban for multiple violations.

You're right Barry, er I mean Alex, er I mean Sammy; let's hold judgement. Now if Tiger could only explain how he went from stick-thin to semi-hulk.
