Doesn't matter if he doesn't win anymore. He's dominated for long enough. Where does it say that the standard is the total number of majors won?

I happen to think, all things considered, it's much harder to dominate now in the PGA than it was 20-30 years ago. Reason being that golf is a much more widely played and international game than it was then. The pool of those able to be competition is much much much larger now. So what if the equipment is better. Everyone has the equipment.

Five years ago I may have agreed with you, but now I believe Jack had much better competition from players ranked #2-#10 in the world than Tiger.

By the way, Jack still dominated longer than Tiger has..............and JACK will always be #1 until defeats his major records. I for one hope he falls short, and not because I dislike Tiger.

That's only because (a) there are so many quality players that it is tough to look great #2-10 and because he is just that good at #1. Yes he's played longer. I guess you can define it however you want, but let's say over any 10 year period, Tiger has been more dominant. Tiger will probably pass Nicklaus in majors in less than 15 years where it took Nicklaus 25 years. Plus Tiger just wins so much of a higher percentage of tournaments that he plays.

Jordan??? Such a good athlete he hit .150 in low A ball. and cant break 90 in golf despite thousands of dollars in lessons from Harmon. Jordan is a CLOWN compared to Tiger. Not to mention I just watched on ESPN classic the refs kiss his ass all the way to a win vs UTah in 98. Totall ref aided bs.

Jordan is probably the best basketball player of all-time..............however, his popularity and thus enhanced greatness was and is greatly enhanced by modern technology (tv, cable, satelite) aided coverage.

There have been more than a handful of basketball players you could certainly make an argument for as being just as good or even better.

Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem-Abdul Jabaar, Magic Johnson, and Oscar Robertson come immediately to mind.

Ever hear of a guy named Wayne Gretzky?

No player has ever dominated teams sports the way the Great One did.

He had a supporting cast that was nothing less than incredible in his EDM days(many of which were made greater by the fact they played with #99).

Gretzky, much like MJ, are both overrated..........but that is not to say I don't think both are the best ever in their respective sports. Most, if not all super-super great players are overrated to some extent. What I'm saying is that both are not as good as the mass public has made both out to be.

Mark Messier is one of the top five hockey players I've ever witnessed in my lifetime when taking everything into consideration.

If Nicklaus, in his prime, entered a major Tiger was playing in Nicklaus would lose 8 days a week - Tiger is so much better than anyone else it is ridiculous - at any sport - Jordan, Ruth, Gretzy, whoever - maybe Secratariat was more dominant - that's it.
