You can believe what ever you want to believe. The fact of the matter is that a each roll of the dice is independent of one another. If I flip a coin 100 times, the 99th time is STILL independent of the other flips.
What you are trying to say is that when you roll the dice, that it is dependent on your last roll. That is simply not true.
You are talking about the law of averages. Sure, there is such a thing. The point is this comes into play over A LONG TERM TEST. When you are playing at the casino, it is short term no matter how long you stay there. Over a billion rolls you are going to see things even out, sure.

There are many people who believe in the existance of repeating patterns even in a sample of random numbers. Unfortunately they can never come up with an exact formula to test against the math. There have been plenty of articles written on the subject so he is definitely not alone in his thinking. His attitude sucks, though so you will not get a rational discussion out of him.

Before I go let me touch on your point on long term events. That is my point about all of the math mumbo jumbo. The math is only relevent for thousands and hundreds of thousands of rolls. The fact is that you have only 6 ways to lose and 18 ways to win. That is math. I understand the house edge but that is taken into account over, like you said, a long period of time. The house edge is about 6% on roullete which means you should lose an average of $6 every hour with a $100 bankroll. When does this ever happen????? When does the actual mathmatical odds really take place in a 2 hour session of any game? Or 30 minute session for that matter? The answer is that it doesn't. The odds are stacked against you when you grind out hours and hours at any given table, they will catch up with you. With a win/loss total pre set before you enter a casino you can take most of that long term advantage away. 10% of your bankroll is all you should expect to win from any table. That makes it very easy to walk away while up just a little bit of money. You are not giving the casino that long term play, therefore taking away that long term edge they have over you.

I've never heard of Singer. In fact I have never even done more than skim through books about gambling. Like I stated earlier, I met a guy that played this way and it seemed like it was worth a try. The first time I played it I made enough to take a trip to Vegas. While in Vegas I did very well. When I got back I started going to Detroit (they have the nearest casino to me) every weekend and making extra cash. This went on for about a year or so before the gas prices and wear on my car made me stop. Since then I have been going to different casinos on about a monthly basis. During this time I have only lost money a few times, which everyone is going to lose here and there. I do think short term goals is good. It takes the greed aspect out of it, which is what kills so many gamblers. I never push beyond what I set as my win limit. I don't really think winning in casinos is as hard as people make it out to be if people were just smarter about it. One thing that makes me really feel that I'm doing somthing right is the dealers and boxmens attitudes towards my bets. They mock me for calling of my place bets and try their hardest to throw me off while they welcome all the YO and world bets and hardways. They never once laughed at someone for playing the field bet over and over again. They welcome the horrilbe plays and try to make you feel stupid if you play smart.

Yes, driving nearly 8 hours every weekend was a bit much to take. I don't need the money that badly. I cut my trips down to once a month and do just fine with that. Except for right now. I just got back from Vegas and now I'm going to AC for this weekend. I'll be in New Orleans and Miss. the next weekend. Life is good for me, how is life in South Dakota going for you?:lol:

I'm well aware of what a fact is. Something that can be proven, and it is simple to prove who is smarter than another. Like when you were in school and they shipped your type in that different bus, they knew for a FACT that you people were not as smart as the others.
