My feeling is it was repulsive what sterling said.
But I have the fundamental belief that comments made in the privacy of someone's house is never a reason to force someone to sell an nba team.

Mark Cuban agrees with me and so does many of the other owners who voted against there try beliefs due to pressure from the outside.

Corporate sponsors, fans, players, other owners all want him out. Maybe not 100% of them but there isn't some huge debate going on about it.

Not like the team is being taken from him, he is gonna sell it at market value and there is going to be tons of competition for it. Maybe if he owned a restaurant or gas station you would have a point.

I think you guys are delusional. The NBA needs to do what it can to get rid of racism and bigotry at its highest positions of power and get back to doing what it does best.

Selling overpriced sneakers to poor minorities...

When this is part of your apology:

He made love to every girl in every girl in America in every city and he had AIDS. When he had those AIDS, I went to my synagogue and I prayed for him.

What has Magic Johnson done? He's got AIDS. Did he do any business? Did he help anybody in south L.A.? I think he should be ashamed of himself. What does he do for the black people? I'm telling you he does nothing. It's all talk.

I spent millions on giving away and helping minorities. Does he do that? That's one problem I have. Jews, when they get successful, they will help their people.

And some of the African-Americans, maybe I'll get in trouble again. They don't want to help anybody. What has Magic Johnson really done for Children's Hospital which kids are lying in the hallways. They are sick. They need a bed. What has he done for any hospital? What has he done for any group?

You may want to stop apologizing.

Said in private but they are now public and the nba has to deal with it. The problem is that he has a record of being racist in other areas. The nba should have dealt with it before but now they have no choice.

Amen. The NBA knew Sterling was a racist and a ticking time bomb, yet took no action. He never should have survived the discrimination lawsuit. The NBA got the mess they asked for and now they have to deal with it.

Not sure if Stern just buried his head in the sand or what. I mean, he suspends players for stepping over the out of bounds line from the bench during a fight....but lets this guy be a total racist for decades and does nothing. In fact, they funneled chris paul there after rejecting a deal the lakers had in place. Shame on the nba.

I'm sure Stern figured he would keep quiet/die before anything like this ever happened.

NBA was smart to void the CP3 to LAL deal though. That was BS how bad Dell Demps was getting ripped off in that deal, not Stern's fault that guy was an idiot for agreeing to that.

Exactly. Before Chris Paul, nobody cared about Sterling or the Clippers. Sending Paul there made the Clippers relevant, and put Sterling in the spotlight.

It wasn't dumb for basketball reasons, it was dumb because they made Sterling and his team relevant.

Nice to get away from Sterling/racism talk but fwiw the Clipps had a way better deal than the Lakers. The Lakers were giving up 3 old guys and the Hornets were trying to rebuild. Taking back young players/picks was what the Hornets were supposed to do.

yeah I know but they did have the best deal. I mean, what were the Hornets supposed to do? Gordon at the time was considered a really good young player, Aminu had just been a lottery pick, they got another pick in the deal I believe...

I think Sterling should call Magic up with his rotary dial phone and apologize about "those aids"

Why does everyone think the old days were so bad? Those were the days when this country was the only superpower. Its like since we accept everyone now, times are better. Look around, they are not and there are reasons for that

No doubt. It made the most basketball sense. Gordon is a nice player when healthy. Still think they should've avoided sending him to Sterling, though. Ironically, that pick became Austin Rivers.

1 pick off from Drummond. Drummond/AD wouldve been a scary twin towers.....I think Gordon is pretty much done though, can't stay healthy and has lost most of the athleticism he had but who knows, maybe he can make a Germany trip.

Also that void helped Houston because they were able to use K Martin to get Harden. Then without getting Gasol they used that $ to get Dwight Howard. Better to be lucky than good at GMing sometimes.

That's a great point on Houston. Morey probably wouldn't have a job today if that trade goes through.

Not sure what you are talking about. Life is much better for a vast majority of people.
