These players could barely handle the lockout. Imagine what it would be for a boycott.

I don't agree.
Lets say bill gates would have said the same thing.
Would everyone in the world uninstall windows from their computers just because he made a stupid comment?
This whole thing is absurd

Come on CHOP!! I hate to even associate Bill Gates name with Donald Sterling but if Bill made those comments, the same would ensue. And yes, many businesses would threaten to stop using Microsoft products if he was not voted out and the board would vote him out quicker than Donald Sterling, lol.

Too many JustinCruise jokes fried your brain CHOP. These are terrible analogies you are making.

This issue is so cut and dry.

spoiled pampered brats acting like spoiled pampered brats

I have no dog in the hunt, I couldn't care less about what Donald Sterling says or does, but I'm amused by people who think the world revolves around them.

Maybe he can help start racial riots too

Then again, what should I expect from a man who blamed "the decision" backlash on racism

Sometimes, it's best to just STFU. His words won't influence Sterling, might actually encourage him to fight harder. But his words can help magnify racial tensions.

How did the players act spoiled by saying they would boycott if Sterling wasn't handled?

They don't want him owning a team, they are free to express that. Considering everyone in the NBA agrees with them, there isn't anything to boycott.

Good for the Lebron. Hopefully all the players would boycott. Got to have principle, especially when you have an owner that thinks of you as his property in some weird 1800s slave way. Lebron is far more important to the NBA than Sterling.

Theres no principle when an extraordinary amount of players who make 7 plus figures live paycheck to paycheck. Zero chance of wide spread boycott.

You make no sense and should not be speaking for the feelings of minorities and what their actions should be. I'm pretty sure it's been white as far as the eye can see for you since birth.....stick to commenting what you know about.....which seems like nothing.

Players should have been up in arms years ago. Only care now when it's comments that are in a roundabout way about team/league/arena.

one could say that if players cared that much about racism from sterling it would have come long ago. it's like they only care because its hit the arena..

I mostly agree with this. You are right in terms of asking why now but not before...

But how is society supposed to progress if people don't put their foot down eventually? I'm not saying Doc, players, other owners, etc were right to allow Sterling to run wild but doing the right thing after doing the wrong thing is still better than the alternative.

It's funny how he tells Lebron it's best to STFU but not Sterling, lol.

they can express it, breaking their contract is all together different

and increasing racial tensions, which it will do, is immature (for lack of a better or less abrasive word)

Yeah but there is nothing to boycott, the issue is being handled.

LeBron was just saying IF it wasn't handled (a sentiment all the players feel)

He said this to Roger Mason Jr and he stupidly repeated it on Jim Rome acting like LeBron was ready to sitout next season. Not like LeBron or the Clipper guys called a press conference over it. This is why you need good union heads and not Roger Mason Jr I guess. Not like LeBron went on the ABC postgame show and said WE'RE BOYCOTTING. It was more like "We were ready to boycott if he didn't get removed"...

Like I said in a previous post, I think the issue has mostly died down. That Cooper/Sterling interview was bizarre and it seems like it mostly went under the radar.

Why should I keep to myself? You have been attacking me like a nut job lately. You are exactly like Donald Sterling, too dumb to know when to shut up. With your history of hatred for blacks and ridiculous undeserved elitist attitude, you might want to sit this conversation out. It's not going to look good for you.

If they do not like that since whites HAVE to hire them, they always have the option of opening their own business.

All I'm saying is it would not matter to me if sterling said every white guy in Louisiana who is under forty years old who likes the New Orleans saints are retarded and should be shot would not phase me one bit.

Although I would think of him as an idiot I would not call for him to sell the team.
