Why does everyone think the old days were so bad? Those were the days when this country was the only superpower. Its like since we accept everyone now, times are better. Look around, they are not and there are reasons for that
You mean the generation that is now retired and driving around in their Cadillac's with bumper stickers that say "we're spending our children's inheritance?"

No I mean the generation that didn't take blind handouts from the govt. The generation that was proud of hard work. Where kids respected their parents instead of blaming their problems on them. When singing was an actual talent. When playing basketball was talent; not who can jump the highest. Back when you saw people take pride I their homes and yards; not sitting in their section 8 house with a fake disability smoking their menthols and talkin bout how Magic da man.

Oh I don't. I think it will be much worse until the US becomes post WW 1 Germany. The problems are obvious. They really are and common sense can tell you that. Don't argue the obvious. And yes some white trash are too blame but that is the not the majority of the problem. Part of the problem is you cant even state the problem on websites like this.

There are good and bad things about every generation. There are many things I liked about my generation. And many I disliked. I didn't like the politics that went on during the Nixon era. Getting us off the gold standard and causing widespread inflation. My generation is also responsible for starting the war on drugs that has turned us into the police state we are now. I didn't mean to turn this into a polictical thread because everybody has their own beliefs. But all I can say is every generation thinks they are better than the next. The "greatest generation" probably wouldn't trade their lives they had in the 40's and 50's for the 70's or 80's either.

What does that even mean? Nobody boycotted, nobody is even protesting, nobody is rioting. Nothing is happening because everyone is pretty much in agreement that Sterling needs to be voted out, forced to sell team, etc.

It seems like you and others want to think people are overreacting, when there really are is nothing showing overreaction.

It is weird people are saying "OMG PEOPLE ARE BLOWING THIS ISSUE UP" when nothing of the sort is even happening. Like I said, Cooper interviewed Sterling and it barely made any news. And the interview was Whitney Houston level bizarre too....

what it means is we can't let words spoken by an ignorant man upset us, it means we need to be proud of what we represent and not worry about people who don't like us, it means one can't go through life a fucking victim especially when they're one of the most fortunate people on earth

it means you have to have more self respect, it means you have to choose your words wisely as opposed to fueling the fire

it means you don'r speak and act like a child

it means a whole lotta things, and the world would be much better off if it behaved in such a fashion

lol I messed up the C&P on this, I meant to reply to 1 of CHOPs post. Not yours so what I was saying had nothing to really do with what you said in the post I qouted, my bad.

I agree with what you are saying, I just think Roger Mason Jr is more of an idiot than anyone else for telling Jim Rome anything relating to any type of boycott. LeBron probably just said that in passing to him or something, I doubt he was like "Go on TV and say we're ready to boycott!!!" That would be absurd and if he did say that then he is an idiot since tensions had simmered down and the situation was being handled.

I'm just saying this outrage people want to speak of isn't really there. Nobody is boycotting/protesting/demonstrations at games. Pretty much everyone let the tension die down and the process play out....It basically went how it was supposed to go (unless 1 thinks he shouldnt have to unload team, which is whole diff issue)

I know I'm going to get cyber eggs thrown at me for saying this but I agree with every word of this post.
Some of you people are mistaking those of us who have this opinion as an endorsement for what sterling said.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

I think sterling is just as big of an idiot as the next guy

All I'm saying is it was a 2 min audio clip of an old guy in his house. Who gives a flying fuck what he says?

Anyone who loses one second of sleep over this has issues.

What makes you think anyone besides people immediately close to the situation lost sleep? That is what I am talking about, the process is playing out just how it is supposed to. This outrage you speak of isn't really there IMO

Other than 24 hr news cycle media stuff but that is just America in the twitter/social media/internet/500 channels era

As far as whether he should/shouldnt lose the team, its 2014 and he owns a billion dollar entity that is in the public eye. Of course the other owners/players etc are gonna wanna remove him....

Lot of people give a fuck what he says that are associated with the NBA. The NBA does a lot to represent a positive image especially to children. And yes, a lot of this is a focus on black youths and these players do a lot of work promoting a brand of being successful role models. The NBA does a lot with communities, are dependent on advertisers and their image. It is just really bad business when you are promoting this brand and one of your owners thinks the complete opposite of what you are trying to portray. This is not some govt versus private business issue. This is an association against one of it's own owners. Completely different issue. And when your biggest superstar that brings in hundreds of millions of dollars even hints at boycotting, it is a big fucking deal.

Not big for us because it does not affect us in anyway, but it is a big fucking deal to the NBA.

This entire thing got blown way out of proportion.

Are we so sensitive as humans to where we have to take such drastic measures over something someone said in his house.

Are we really this pussified as a society?

Are we really this thin skinned?

its sad but the answer is YES, waaay too many pusses out there

VERY TRUE.

My wife works at a hospital they recently hired 3 new people in her department , one of her co-workers took a phone pic of a new employee and posted it on facebook with the comment "heres the new baylor shift guy" .... another coworker responded to her facebook post "whats with all the tinkerbelles being hired". .......somebody showed it to the supervisor and he was fired for calling an employee he didnt even know tinkerbelle.

...Poor guy thought the other girls facebook was set to private but it wasnt.
