You must have stayed at the Paris on an ultra-busy few days because I spent two of the past five weekends there and the pool wasn't packed, there was no waiting list and it looked like lounge chairs were first come, first served with no fee although I didn't use one. You are right about the lower class crowd roaming the Strip but the sportsbooks are still great. Clark County just received approval to re-open bars so they should be open soon; the rules regarding masks in restaurants are that if you're sitting at the table, you don't need a mask but anywhere else, you do.
My brother decided to take a chance coming in from Anaheim. Stayed at Bellegio. One thing he noticed, lots of thuggish peeps in that hotel. Its gotta be the cheap rates. Don't know if they're staying there but they were definitely all over the casino. Definitely not the clientele of old.
The pool wasn't packed because it is at about 30% capacity which means that after about 10am you can't get in. Three people got shot down by the Stage Door next to Battistas (across from Ballys). Lots of reasons not to come to Vegas, but at least the bars are open and you can play bar top VP.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Frank Humel says officers were flagged down at around 4:15 a.m. in the 4000 block of Linq Lane with reports of shots fired at the Stage Door Casino.
Preliminary information indicates there was a fight in the parking lot and a short time later, a vehicle drove past the bar and shot into the crowd.
Three people suffered gunshot wounds in the incident and were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Imo, Vegas will keep deteriorating......there's no coming back to what it once was. Just wait another year & see how many job loses, home eviction, etc. . we will see. The chaotic disaster is just beginning, & the violence will get worse in Vegas & around the country.
Vegas is a shit hole right now, I will be moving away come January if the old lady lands a job in another state. Fucking neighbor has mental issues, called the Cops the other day claiming I stole her cat. The Cops where awesome, basically told me she is a nut but have to check it out. didn't even ask for my name, just gave me a fist bump and said sorry. Parlay that with the neighbors pounding POT all night and the smell intruding the apartment, this place is a joke. Vegas in the 80's wayyyyyyy different, good buffets, good shows, just the quality of people IMO. Wanna be politically correct, but feel in the blank the new breed has fucked it up.
Some people need to look at the overall way of the land in Vegas we are now witnessing.. The type of clientele you have visiting there can influence the overall experience..and what kind of criminal element lurking.. I appreciate what the vibe feels and looks like there.. Updates on what kind of mask you're wearing there , how long your sitting at a BJ table , or which casino you and your significant other sharing a ribeye isn't exactly useful information...who really cares about someones insignificant viewpoint ?
