One NBA team exec who says he was previously interested in trading for Andrew Bogut texts he's no longer interested. "I'm not helping them."

I can't imagine they can't unload Bogut. No way would they have Durant announce if they didn't have suitors lined up to make the $ work. That would be incredible.

Chop did you see my post #70, that was in response to the parity and more teams having a shot.

If the top assets (LeBron, KD, Curry, etc) were priced properly then there would clearly be more parity, but that doesn't exactly align with the leagues interests for obvious reasons.

When Kobe couldn't get out of the first rd 3 years in a row and the Spurs were playing the Pistons in the finals, the NBA wasn't exactly thriving business wise because of it. Or LeBron on Cleveland the 1st time, etc...

1 player is worth a lot obviously, but you put anyone on a mediocre team and they're still going to have far less of a chance to win.

Kevin Durant to take his talents to Bay Area. The ViewFromVegas is that the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook made the Golden State Warriors the odds-on favorites to win the NBA title at -125 (odds of 4-5) and it's been bet up to -140. The Warriors' over/under season win total is 68.5.

Someone will. He has to leave they have 4 max contracts. He will get traded for an expiring contract and warriors will just cut whoever they get or sign them to a minimum deal.

With the trades that OKC made , this team on paper was the favorite going into next season with Durant ...this move confirms all I need to know about Durant leading a team to a title...never was going to happen..not a leader now , but a follower..
Leader, follower, insert favorite name here...call me whatever you want for that type of money and talent, I wouldn't give a damn...

Warriors odds to win the NBA title went from 7-4 to 4-5 after Kevin Durant's announcement.

Tell me how it's not impossible to not lose money

betting something like:

5k gs
2k cleveland
1k Sa

100% impossible to lose money making those 3 bets

He is an expiring contract fwiw. 1yr 11mill left.

Just talent wise it would be a no brainer to take him but it is possible teams say screw it. Again, I'd be surprised if GS didn't cross those t's and dot those i's but we will see.

I get what you are saying. The funny thing is this system was set up to try to avoid exactly what it's causing .
The original reason for the way it's setup was to try to help teams keep thier stars but it did not workout in real life they it it did on paper.

Like if Kobe made 60 million in his prime then it isn't going to be as easy for that team to have Pau, Bynum, Odom, Fisher, Ariza/Artest. So then Kobe isn't in the finals in 2009, in his place is the Mavericks and it is Mavs/Magic finals. If this happened for 3-4 years straight then the national TV $ would start to get messed with.

National interest would kinda go the way of baseball in some ways, probably not to that extreme but you get the point. The stars wouldn't be racking up titles like players of yesteryear.
