Linda Cohn.....If you can't beat them, join them. Great basketball decision for Kevin Durant. Wanted to win title. He picked team with best chance.

Atleast OKC was good, LeBron left Cleveland and people had a hissy fit.

He can do what he wants as a free agent, but it is still a lame move to me and not a great thing for the league.

I don't think the game of basketball itself is set up for parity.
Not enough variance to give fans of teams that are not elite hope.

There are at least 10 teams in MLB right now that think they can win the World Series .
That can never happen in basketball.

This move reduces the number of teams that can win an NBA down down from 3 team to 2 teams.

Wow. You know what is bigger news?

Bogut has to be traded now. Wow.

Lebron might still beat them even with durrant. I know one thing for sure, he not fretting on Durrant.

Think about it like this.....with bogut Golden st woukd be back to back champions already. Series would of ended 4-1. Wow that he's gone now. One of the best rim protectors in the league. No secret lebron had back to back 40 pt games without Bogut

not good for the league but i sure will be looking forward to 10:30 on most nights and watching this team play

Their team should fit together seamlessly. Everyone can pass and play off the ball. LeBron and Wade was never optimal since neither 1 was good at spacing the court but all of the GS guys can shoot it.

I think they probably open up like -150 to title if I had to guess.

Is this potentially the best team of all time?

This move reduces the number of teams that can win an NBA down down from 3 team to 2 teams.

It would never have the parity of baseball but if it had baseballs CBA and contract structure then there would be more parity.

It would be tough to build really good teams if you had to pay the best players their fair market value of 75-80 million instead of 25-30 million. More teams would have a chance to win because the best assets would be properly valued rather than severely undervalued.

Would that be good for the league and the owners though? Probably not. The NBA thrives on having stars on top tier teams because so much of their revenue comes from national TV contracts.

If you've got well rounded Hawks and Grizzlies teams in the finals, then ratings go down and that $ goes down. So parity = bad for the NBA in a lot of ways. Big reason why the system is the way it is.

Bogut a bigger piece than durrant IMO. Why? Because you are one game away from another ring and your best rim protector breaks his knee. Lebron proceeds to have back to back 40 pt games. This will lock up the finals for a couple more years but I wouldn't hand golden st the trophy yet

I'd probably go under there. They just broke the regular season wins record, they won't be going as hard after regular season wins next year. And their depth will be terrible now because they have to gut their team to sign KD. That will add up to less wins in the regular season.

I'd guess like 65.5 to 66. But I wouldn't touch it because I'm just not sure how much they would care to rack up the regular season wins. Are they really trying to kill themselves to get homecourt over the Spurs? Doubt it.

With the trades that OKC made , this team on paper was the favorite going into next season with Durant ...this move confirms all I need to know about Durant leading a team to a title...never was going to happen..not a leader now , but a follower..
