He must care since he said that there is a higher chance of leaving our great country with Bush at the controls.

Royal- I did not mean to imply that the Republicans have no care for the middle class..........just stating that 99% of the people i hang with are middle class citizens.

Dante-

REAL life is betting.

Its what i do.

So what is wrong for me supporting Kerry, a person who will allow me a better chance to continue to wager offshore and post at sites such as the RX?

If Bush gets elected, your posting days at the RX may be a thing of the past.

Fish,

Did you say you leaned towards Bush prior to the first debate? I could be thinking of someone else.

I'm happily voting for Nader as I did last election. Both Pres candidates are awful, I'm not in the lesser of 2 evils world that some people want to live in.

By the way Fish, I have read that strategists for Kerry are urging him not spend much time in Florida as it has swung towards Bush in a way which Kerry will not overcome. He wins Florida by 5 points easy. In fact, that is one reason you will see less and less of him in Florida and more in Ohio and Nevada and other places. Florida is out. Period.:breakit:

Is Kerry saying if he can get it back to a nuisnace level like the 90's everything should be A OK. The first bombing of the World center was nuisance, go away little terrorist. The bombing of the USS Cole was just a nuisance. Kerry is so out of touch it's amazing. Where has the guy been for the last 10 years?

I belong to the generation that grew up during political terrorism in Europe back in the 70's and 80's. Looking back at those wild days I see the mistakes made but also how terrorism got defeated.

The key objective of terrorism is not to kill people but rather to severely damage the economy by generating terror. A good example is all the businesses that failed in the wake of terror following 9/11 .

The best way to fight terrorism is not to play its game, not to allow terrorists to intimidate individuals to the point that they will modify their lifestyle due to the fear of further attacks.

I believe Kerry has made clear that he will pursue terrorists wherever they hide, but he doesn't want them to succeed in their goal, which again is spreading fear in order to damage the economy. This is how I read his words.

Kudos on this post, Whoson1st... it pretty much sums it all up. People keep on talking about how both candidates are related to royalty and related to each other, without realizing that both of them have very little in common with the average American citizen. These candidates cannot relate to you or me, as they were born rich, the have lived as rich men and will die being rich. What would they know of hard work to support a family?

America is exporting democracy, yet the Electoral vote is a slap in the face of the people and democracy. The election itself is decided by the electoral vote. Last time around, the candidate appointed with the victory was not the candidate who won the popular vote. Today, the same man is looking forward to getting 're-elected' when he was never elected in the first place.

Has anybody seen the movie called "Waking Life"? There's a part of one dialogue that I would like to quote here:
(Main character walking down the street with a man who is holding a can of gasoline).

Self-destructive man feels completely alienated, utterly alone. He's an outsider to the human community. He thinks to himself, "I must be insane." What he fails to realize is that society has, just as he does, a vested interest in considerable losses, in catastrophes. These wars, famines, floods and quakes meet well defined needs. Man wants chaos. In fact, he's got to have it. Depressions, strife, riots, murder, all this dread. We're irresistibly drawn to that almost orgiastic state created out of death and destruction. It's in all of us. We revel in it. Sure, the media tries to put a sad face on these things, painting them up as great human tragedies, but we all know the function of the media has never been to eliminate the evils of the world. No! Their job is to persuade us to accept those evils and get used to living with them. The powers that be want us to be passive observers. You got a match? And they haven't given us any other options outside the occasional purely symbolic participatory act of voting. You want the puppet on the right or the puppet on the left? I feel the time has come to project my own inadequacies and dissatisfactions into the socio-political and scientific schemes. Let my own lack of a voice be heard.

(He pours gasoline all over himself and lights himself on fire.)

Very extreme metaphor, intelligent nevertheless. Of all this discussion, Whoson1st makes the most sense and I have to side with Fishhead here... if we gamble, why is it so wrong to get a 60 cents scalp on this event. I think that's smart... make money today... tomorrow you might slip in your tub, crack your skull open and be done with life. Live like you mean it, that's all that really counts. You guys should have grabbed Kerry at +200 or so...

:drink:

BTW, JFK takes this one home, close race, but he'll take it.
