This isn't a tilt play, I'm taking it before it drops to 3.5. Kyle has been our best pitcher this season and Chapman will be active tomorrow... that sets up Strop/Rondon/Chapman for the 7th/8th/9th if Kyle can give us 6 and I'll take my chances the Sox don't score 5 on us, especially since that might need to be done in 8 innings if they have the lead at home.

I had been emotionally preparing for this series for a few days as this is always a stressful time of year for me. No matter how much more talent the Cubs have than the Sux, they always seem to find a way to be that thorn in our side that gets every bounce, every break, every inch, every call... When Bryant homered 4 pitches into the game and it was brought back by an overweight ogre that wouldn't even be playing if it weren't for PEDs, all I could think was "here we go again". We had the Sox TTU in the bag until a player who is only capable of hitting mistake pitches gets just that and poof it's all gone in a split second... I understand that's baseball, but "baseball" breaks are supposed to even out in the end and I can tell you they are nowhere near even between these two teams. Anywho... 11 LOB for the Cubs later and we end up losing by one in a game we out-hit them 12-8, out-walked them 4-3, and out-fielded them 0-2. Not to mention we lose in the final inning of the last game without Chapman on the active roster. Onto tomorrow... and by the way, this was the abbreviated, calmed down version of my rant after taking some time to cool off Shush()*

Same ol' story against the Sux... KB total base bet was a self-admitted awful one and deserved to lose easily. But Fowler loses 1-0 to Anderson whose "hit" was a grounder to short that deflected off Addy's glove on a play he makes 90+% of the time. Then Rizzo's 1-0 lead turns into a push when Frazier bloops a shallow pop to right that Rizzo gloves before it trickles out of the end of his mitt... $1,125 worth of swings on a matter of INCHES... I wasn't kidding when I said the Sux get every single break against us every single year. James Shields' peripherals are absolutely sickening and yet if he had one great start in recent memory it was tonight... just hilarious how scrubs always decide to show up against us while we decide to take a nap. I'll be at Wrigley the next two nights doing my best to help the tide turn.

This is less of an endorsement of Hammel as his peripherals are scary but he has held his own in the second half thus far and the White Sox lineup is less than scary, especially with no DH tonight. It appears either Abreu or Morneau (who has great H2H stats against Hammel) will have to sit tonight due to fielding position constraints.
I'm a little hesitant to hit any total base matchups because of Ranaudo's high walk rate (and walks earn 0 bases) but will post anything if added.
