Hahaha, then you have HarryCarey watching channel 272 and complaining about those watching channel 206. It's pretty crazy. It was actually fun here for a while. The Poly Forum is a cesspool with like 5 people.
How did I become public enemy #1? I stated my opinion (that you're annoying), you stated yours (that I'm a little bitch), and that was that.

You have a problem with what Defying did I suggest you take it up with Defying. Don't blame me for agreeing with him.

Im saying therx when SHRINK was here was the best forum of all-time and it always will be.
Shrink understood how forums work.
He was a great business person.
He was a scum and did a lot of people wrong.
Hell he even owed me money.

But he was a smart guy that knew what he was doing when it came to forums.

things are different. EOG is shrink's latest work...

you just proved my point in a single sentence.. you could have said it without the expletive... but you didn't.. that's the problem with these "debates", some can't keep their emotions in check...

and I AM SAYING ITS UNREADABLE

It was 3 threads man. You have 47 threads that you can read on the front page and another 50 on the second page that you can comment about anything. Why would you read the 3 threads that you think are unreadable?

I read everything on this thread and have seen the trend for the last weeks. Some threads are unreadable because of the bickering of the few... some poly forum carcasses have shown up that I didnt see in a long time up here...

All said, censorship blows... I mean, I guess it really gets that annoying but is just a sin of a few, no need to impose forum etiquette on the rest of us, nor that I need to have room to be hostile or insulting, I rarely post, mostly read, but... censorship is wrong and who knows maybe the bickering does attract more posters and readers and that's good... people get off with anything, if you feel insulted or feel the need to discuss the subject in a different matter just open your own thread and empathize what is banned from posting or who... make it interesting not restricted.

Kind of hard to pin the current state of EOG on shrink.
That would be like blaming the 76'ers historically bad basketball season on DR J.

fair enough. but my rebuttal, if youre not heavy handed those that need to listen are more likely to ignore.. because my post, you'd be hard pressed to find ANYONE on this forum that I was heavy handed with.. welll... maybe gtc, but i feel like that is always justified

Some people have no concept of business.

It blows my mind.

THESHRINK got it right the first time.

In most instances you would be correct, but there are extremes.

How does the RX grow its business if people come to the site and see these threads? They're just gonna think "Wow these must be the most miserable people on earth" and leave.

Or they're gonna see a thread with RIP Leroy Nieman or Happy Birthday Boris Diaw with 3 responses and say "wow this is boring as fuck." and leave.

I don't blame you man, I agree some shit and some posters need to chill the fuck down, but looking the bigger picture... censorship is the wrong remedy... maybe people need to be banned once in a while and else, if it gets too out of hand! But this is not new in the forum...

I bet we dislike the same post/posters... many I think are ridiculous and shouldn't really even post but for right or for wrong they add to the variety of the forum. Trolls like gtc did one good thing well at least, they railed everybody against them, for a moment everyone here had one common goal and target...

I too came from another forum recently. In 9 years of posting at sports forums you learn the threads you want to be a part of and others that hold no interest. The two points are some people are never going to get along and if you are offended or hurt by what someone says on an internet forum you shouldn't be posting here. Its not worth it.

Burying threads is not good for business but neither is 3 threads on the same subject with people attacking each other.
I like it here and have felt welcomed. This place is much better than others and it would be a shame to see it go down the wrong road.

Of course...this is all my opinion with much respect to all

It isn't like this site isn't a business though. It is and it relies on traffic and people clicking on ads, if the threads are brutal to read then people are gonna leave.

There are way better ways to discuss the Sterling situation than what I've seen on this site. I can feel some people frothing at the mouth through their computers. Normal people just don't wanna read that.

If the attitude you speak of spilled over into all the threads I would agree.
But this is not the case.

Let me put it this way.

If you turned the TV onto the Disney channel and you saw to women eating each other out this would be a problem.
If your kid was watching spongebob square pants and then a commercial comes on for Trojan Condoms instead of Captain Crunch this would be a problem.

But all the stuff I am speaking of is compartmentalized to where if you don't want to see that stuff it can be easily avoided.

Your telling me people are not into Borris Diaw? The guy can pass, score, play solid defense for his size. Had 1 or 2 great seasons in Phoenix and has now made a strong rebirth in San Antonio. You are truly an idiot if you cant appreciate his skills. Just clueless lol

Ehh it does though...

It spills into a lot of threads, I read a lot of senseless shit between two bickering parties that I could careless to read. This board should be about making my reading experience as pleasant as possible and it is failing at that.

I don't think it is nearly as compartmentalized as you do.

I dunno, not really sure what the solution is. This place was dead before Sterling-gate.

There are issues I am interested in commenting on but the thread insta-devolves into 2 people taking the internet and their argument way too seriously so its like why even bother.

It's just not a good analogy Chop, and here's why. In your analogy therx is DirectTV and each thread is a different channel. In my opinion the internet is DirectTV and theRX is just one channel. One of my favorite channels, and I was getting ready to change it because of the trash programming. And so would any sane noobie.

Agree with all this

And the second part I bolded is the rebuttal to the "why not just skip over the thread, it's so simple" argument.

Yes...there are subjects that a lot of people should avoid but I understand if you feel passionate about something and want to voice an opinion.

Its simple to me to avoid something I see but others get sucked in. All good. Its what mods are here for...get things back on track if need be.
