Singapore vs. Philippines
Monday (July 14, 2014)
Singapore +41.5
The underdogs lost 70-53 to Jordan while the favorites beat Taipei 78-64. Singapore and Indonesia are the two bottom feeders in the tourney. W.L. Wong scored 33 and had 10 rebounds for Singapore. Singapore was able to win the SEABU tournament and qualify (only 3 teams were in it). Hopefully, the underdogs can stay within 35. GL!
India vs. IranFiba Asia CupTuesday (July 15)India +22.5India is 2-1 and will play in the qaurterfinals. They upset China (home team) 65-58 and crushed Indonesia 91-55. They did lose their opener 75-52 to Japan. They are led by V.B. (who had 16 points and 5 assists in the last game), Sirakumar, Singh and Mishra. They are coached by Scott Fleming, who is with the Dallas Mavericks organization, as an asst. with the Texas Legends. He coached college at Mount Vernon Nazarene and had a 440-273 college record. He led India to a win over Angola to win gold at the Lusofonia Games.Iran was favored to win the Asian Cup along with China and is led by Haddadi, who is still trying to get into shape. He has NBA experience. Iran beat Japan by 10, lost to China by 13 and beat Indonesia by 30. Hopefully, Iran uses most of their roster and is happy to win by just 15 to 20 points and India +22.5 is profitable.India +22.5
Portugal at Bosnia (B&H)
July 15, 2014
men's under 20
Portugal +25.5
This game is at Sarajevo, so B&H will have the crowd support. B&H is 4-0 while Portugal is 3-0. The underdog is led by Ventura 18.7 ppg, Bastos 16 ppg and Diedade 13.7. They have some other decent players like Ferreira. B&H has played well and led by Nurkic 15 ppg and Glogovac 14 ppg. I think B&H wins but like the points. GL!
Portugal +25.5
Lost the last play with Singapore +35.5 as China smashed them by 47.
Iran vs. Philippines
Asia Cup
over 128.5
Iran played some low scoring games (in the 120's vs. weak teams) early in the tourney and even lost to China with a 64-51 (115). Iran just beat Jordan 75-60 (135 points). Haddidi (player with NBA experience) has played better lately. The Philippines have had some close wins as they beat Jordan by 1 and India by 4. Marcus Doudhit and Paul Lee are scorers for the underdogs. Iran beat them 85-71 (156) in last year's Asian Games and two years ago in this tourney 77-60 (in the semi's). Hopefully, the Filipinos can make a few 3's and get inside hoops from Douthit and get this game into the low 130's.
