I am fortunate to have a very good job. But I will be skipped over for promotions until I get an advanced degree of some sort. And I really don't want an MBA that every Joe Schmo gets these days without even leaving his house.
Justin, im going to be nice.
What I am going to tell you is well intentioned, not intended to put you down but actually give you some solid advice.
I think you have a really bad case of degreeitus. I made that word up.
What I mean is you are one of those people who gets a degree then goes into the real world and finds out that your degree is not a lottery ticket to wealth and riches.
So then you conclude that your problem is you need another degree.
That will solve the problem.
Then you go get another degree thinking that: "now the world will bow down to me and shower me with riches".
Then you go back into the real world for another 6 months only to find out that the real world is not impressed.
So then you say to yourself: "well I will go get another degree.
This goes on and on and on.
I got out of that rat race after 1.5 years of college.
I learned that I would be better off getting good at something then wasting my time in a classroom.
The secret to being a success in life is to be good at something.
You have to be able to find something in life that is valuable that you are better at then over 99% of the population.
This country is flooded with idiots with degrees that think think they are auto entitled to all the great jobs. But many of these people are useless.
Give me a 4 year grad that went to a public university and payed his way through college with a 3.0 with a head on there shoulders over a career student who has not done shit his whole life at a top 20 school with a 3.9 GPA 8 days a week.
Nothing worse then an advanced grad who thinks he or she is entitled.
People pay you for being talented in the work place.
Not for having a degree never having a meaningful job your entire life.
And dont believe the BS about its who you know.
You make your life what it is good or bad.
You control your own destiny.
