if I had a game to win where everything else is equal id take him over 3 of the guys you mentioned.

By all means, don't stop there.

I've never seen so many Wilson apologists in one thread before, did anyone even watch the game yesterday?

One good pass that without a few flukes he would/should have never gotten a chance to throw.

He did everything he could to lose that sucker, I mean EVERYTHING. PATHETIC doesn't even describe that game he played.

The one thing I will say is he played tough. Not many QB's get up from the cheap shot Matthews put on him.

The guy that came out in the 2nd half determined to get them in the game wasn't even Wilson, it was Lynch.

I don't like the guy but he willed them back in the game. Him and the defense, shutting Rogers down in the 2nd half.

How anyone credits Wilson is almost comical. An average QB and they win by double digits in regulation.

Can't wait to see the three he'd take Wilson over, LOL.

What are you talking about Pats???

The point is, with dominant defenses, life is much easier for a QB.

You have your great QB's who get it done & win Super Bowls even without great defenses.

But then you have mediocre QB's & offenses who don't have to do anything but carefully manage a game as the defense dominates or comes around.

That was the comparison.

Point is we don't know what Wilson would be without that defense carrying them game after game, but what most of us do know, is that he hasn't proven himself to be elite and be mentioned in the same breath with those who are...

Dead on point

Give me the guy who does it when it counts. Wilson was nails when it mattered.

we're in this pass first, fantasy stats era, too often lose sight of what certain guys do when it counts. Very few qbs could shake off that performance and comeback like that.
+1 looked like an all pro in overtime

In all reality, yesterday was the first bad game I've ever seen Wilson play in the NFL. Now all of a sudden, he's not that good?

I bet 25 out of 32 teams would take him right now. I know the Bears would.

Exactly

There are a few elite/superstar QB's in the league.

Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees and I suppose Luck is there or almost there.

Some of you guys are seriously putting him in THAT group?

Cmon fellas get real...

you have to be joking.... I would love to have seen Brady just make 1 play with his legs like Wilson has too.,..his receivers can't get much separation which forces him to run... Brady would be a sitting duck.....

Brady would have gone down like a 5 dollar whore on Seattle's 2 point conversion play.

Wilson gave it a life.

What makes them better?

Wilson is an elite running QB. Brady, Manning, etc are inferior in that regard.

Can't believe all the hate here. He had a terrible game and still won. Has been nothing but solid since he entered the league. Learned my lesson since his days at NC State......never bet against Russell Wilson.

I don't think anyone in this thread said Wilson wasn't that good.

Only that he isn't an elite in the category of 3, 4, 5 others.

I simply cannot believe what I'm reading by some who are already appointing him all-time great.

Con guys please be realistic...

Huh???

Michael Vick used to be the elite of the elite running QB's.

And...???

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is an elite QB in terms of his running ability.

How many NFC conference championships has he been to in his short career?

Why isn't he in your list of elite QB's?

How many times in a row has his team beaten Roger's Packers?

When Wilson was taking over the starting job in Seattle, I was laughing....

I aint laughing anymore....the kid is a winner and he competes.....

And his record against the top QBs of the league is legit.....

14/29 209 yards 1 TD 4 Int

that has to be one of the worst performances of any QB to ever win a conference championship

a slew of fortuitous plays down the stretch (including an onside kick and two point conversion) gave him an opportunity to pad those numbers in OT, otherwise they're beyond abysmal, they're somewhere in the super goat range

so I'm not one to be talking up Wilson right now, two good throws in OT don't outweigh the 60 minute game to me

0 QB rating in 1st half, 4 INT's. Just because they recover an onside kick & Lynch runs wild 157 yds on ground + key catch doesn't
make Wilson a top notcher. That throw for the 2 pointer looked like a baseball pop up, please don't credit him for that.

Yeah, I don't think anyone would argue that Sea won that game against GB in spite of Wilson.

Wilson may have been onside kick away from having the worst game in NFL conference playoff history.

Just pointing that a QB's running game is nowhere near as important as it's passing game and Wilson don't have much of a passing game.

So funny how fickle people are with qbs .. Peyton manning made a career of losing playoff games and under performing on the biggest stage and it's never his fault and always forgotten. Russ Wilson plays a bad half in a game they won and everyone pouncing..

And if he doesn't make that 3 down conversion on first set of downs in ot the game is practically over.
