14/29 209 yards 1 TD 4 Int

that has to be one of the worst performances of any QB to ever win a conference championship

a slew of fortuitous plays down the stretch (including an onside kick and two point conversion) gave him an opportunity to pad those numbers in OT, otherwise they're beyond abysmal, they're somewhere in the super goat range

so I'm not one to be talking up Wilson right now, two good throws in OT don't outweigh the 60 minute game to me

Yeah just lob the ball downfield and hope your receiver can track it down like a outfielder catching fly balls

Give me the guy who does it when it counts. Wilson was nails when it mattered.

we're in this pass first, fantasy stats era, too often lose sight of what certain guys do when it counts. Very few qbs could shake off that performance and comeback like that.

Heard a guy say on the radio this morning that the Seahawks would trade Wilson for Luck in a heart beat.

I'm not so sure I would. Luck was awful yesterday. Very bad.

QBs usually get too much credit when they win and too much blame when they lose.

I'll admit Wilson is the perfect fit for that particular team. But HE has not won all those playoff games or beaten all those quarterbacks...not single-handedly. He has a really good fucking team around him.
I've been saying this for year. it pertains to all levels of football. The SEC has won many national championships with some very mediocre QB's. It's the surrounding cast. And the coaches get too much blame too when they lose. There's nothing wrong with getting beat by a better team.

Wilson reminded me of Tim Tebow against Pittsburg in the playoffs.

Would you want Tebow as your QB?

Please don't compare Tebow to Wilson. Now kindly remove yourself from the thread. Thanks.

Well said. There was a point where the Packers should have been halfway through the boatrace, but it was only 16-0. Getting an inch on the Seahawks' defense is tough.

Yesterday's Seahawks win vs. a couple of years ago when Denver beat Pitt.

That 80 yard lob and run for a TD in overtime.

threw a pick with 5 minutes left, which should have been the nail in the coffin

then the defender took a knee, what followed was insanity

Seattle had by far the best running game in the NFL, by far, which makes being the QB a whole lot easier

Seattle was 30th in passing offense, as in one of the worst in the league

I like Wilson, I really do. I think he's a good QB and an even better person / leader. But lets try to keep a little perspective here. He's not the guy the team leans on to win every week, he's more a manager and he does his job well

To mention him in the same sentence as some of the great QB's of this era is kinda silly. Maybe time will change that, but he's not there yet.

the likes of Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson both won SB's playing essentially the same game Wilson is playing today. The team runs, plays great D, and the QB's job is to not turn the ball over (which btw, wilson did yesterday)

I cant say he was the biggest reason they lost. It was just an ass-kicking in every way.

Not what you said dude.

That's exactly what I said in post 26.

I just articulated it better in my other post in case you were confused. Apparently you were.

To say they had by far the best running game in the NFL is deceiving since Wilson accounted for like 25-30% of that production.

Not much. 2 tiers below elite. A heady and mentally strong player. Not a guy who will carry a team but one who does what is needed for his team to win.

Dead on

Where would he be & what would he look like without that Dominant Defense which allows him & the Seattle offense to manage games much easier???

Comparable Situations with Dynasty Defenses:

Trent Dilfer With Baltimore
Brad Johnson With Tampa Bay

Maybe one day the Seahawks' defense will thin out & we'll find out the answer...
