That's exactly what I said in post 26.

I just articulated it better in my other post in case you were confused. Apparently you were.

Wilson reminded me of Tim Tebow against Pittsburg in the playoffs.

Would you want Tebow as your QB?

And I said to you you can't compare Tebow to Wilson. That's dumb.

lol @ comparing Dangerous to Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer

Trent Dilfer? really?

Wilson actually has to make plays for Seattle to win, as evidenced by yesterday and last years NFCCG vs SF

Not much. 2 tiers below elite. A heady and mentally strong player. Not a guy who will carry a team but one who does what is needed for his team to win.

Mostly agree, but I will add that the receivers for Seattle are garbage at best.

The guy has won, and what more do you really want?

Wilson is 26-2 at home, 5-1 in the playoffs and 10-0 against SB winning QB's.

Comparing him to Dilfer, BJ or Tebow is just retarded.

Seattle had by far the best running game in the NFL, by far, which makes being the QB a whole lot easier

Seattle was 30th in passing offense, as in one of the worst in the league

The QB, Wilson, was a huge part of the "running game". Huge. Close to 1000 yards.

Seattle's passing offense had more yardage per game than its running offense by a wide margin.

The reason they had one of the lowest totals in passing yards/game of teams in the NFL is
that they didn't pass as much as other teams.

Teams that get behind a lot & lose a lot have to pass to try to catch up. They get a lot of easy
passing yards on opponents D's that are playing them soft at the end of games. That obviously
doesn't apply to Seattle.

Speaking of dumb......I wasn't comparing careers, I was comparing one game when both QB's came through "in the clutch".

My larger point is that just because they both came through "in the clutch" of an overtime playoff game when they didn't play well, obviously Wilson is a much better QB.

If you still can't understand the entire context, then you probably shouldn't be commenting (just nod and agree if you don't comprehend)

"Would you want Tebow as your QB?"

Had zero to do with one game,

Nuff said.

What are you talking about Pats???

The point is, with dominant defenses, life is much easier for a QB.

You have your great QB's who get it done & win Super Bowls even without great defenses.

But then you have mediocre QB's & offenses who don't have to do anything but carefully manage a game as the defense dominates or comes around.

That was the comparison.

Point is we don't know what Wilson would be without that defense carrying them game after game, but what most of us do know, is that he hasn't proven himself to be elite and be mentioned in the same breath with those who are...

So if you don't think he is elite you are going to bringup how Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won playing with great defenses too? There is a middle ground

He is a lot more similar to what Brady did in '01 and '03 than Trent Dilfer who really didn't have to do anything with the 2000 Ravens.

He's got a premiere RB. A great defense. A great coach. A great home field advantage....

He's one of the most overrated QB's in the game.

Switch him with Brady and SeaHawks win SB, Patriots don't even make the playoffs.

Dead on

Where would he be & what would he look like without that Dominant Defense which allows him & the Seattle offense to manage games much easier???

Comparable Situations with Dynasty Defenses:

Trent Dilfer With Baltimore
Brad Johnson With Tampa Bay

Maybe one day the Seahawks' defense will thin out & we'll find out the answer...

Wow.

Exactly

There are a few elite/superstar QB's in the league.

Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees and I suppose Luck is there or almost there.

Some of you guys are seriously putting him in THAT group?

Cmon fellas get real...

It's almost as if there is a middle ground of not being elite and not being similar to brad johnson and trent dilfer.

The only thing he has in common with those guys is they played with great defenses.

He is in the pretty good right below elite tier to me

The Pats won 11 games with Matt Cassell at QB; they would make the playoffs (and probably win the SB) with Wilson.

It's Cassel, that's the name you're looking for. How long ago was it he even played for the Patriots?

Either way did they do anything in the playoffs?

Oh wait, they didn't even make it that year even with Cassel having the season of his career.

Exactly my point. Neither would Wilson with this years team.
