And what about those good people who were unfortunate enough to chose the wrong religion?

No such thing as heaven and jesus was just a regular human being. Do you believe in santa claus and the easter bunny too?

jesus was just a normal human and he had no special healing powers or anything.

That's not the point Sumday. It's everyone's right to worship God in any way they desire. Or choose not to. What's objectionable is forcing your belief down another's throat.

Actually Jesus was God in human form, and there were countless witnesses he did have healing power. Read your bible.

Which book is correct because the stories of Jesus' Life are all contradicted in each of the books.

They can't all be right, which book is correct the correct version of his life?

The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John do not contradict themselves. Careful what translation you read.

Did he cleanse the temple at the beginning of the end of his ministry?

How many times can a thread be bumped by its originator before it is locked?

All depends on the attitude of the Man with the SuperMod SuperPowers!

And speaking for that Man, I LOVE this thread, because it's a great place to post video clips with overt, subliminal (or both) messages for general Deviltry.

I love this thread too barman. There have been some very good points made.

However, I feel that we are rehasing the same old tired crap over and over again when frodo bumps the thread after a month of no one posting.

Certainly a thread can be created that introduces new material that you can have your fun in. Or perhaps your are frodo and you are bumping the thread for more hilarity?

I have a hard time dealing with the doctrine of hell. But it's a little easier when I see people that thumb their nose at God and proudly proclaim that they will go to hell and are happy to do so, if it means that they can reject God and rule their own lives.

Don't know about Those People, but speaking for myself, I only "thumb my nose" at the notion of a God who is willing to either kill his children and or consign them to an eternal existence of pain, torture and degradation.

Now if anyone reading this believes in such a God, please don't allow any of my own disbelief to throw you off your game.

I'll just be over here, enjoying an understanding of a God who is truly loving without condition - just as is promoted in the gospels of Jesus Christ as I've come to understand them.

And I don't literally state that "I will go to Hell" because I have come to understand that "Hell" as a post-life destination is purely a myth.

Barman, this is a tough one, all stemming from that whole "free will" thing.

Let's just get it right out on the ol' table

We ALL love this thread

Especially those of us whose eyes glaze over when trying to read more than a couple posts in the Sell, Sell, Sell thread.

heh...Not really all that tough

a) God is unconditional Love and Forgiveness

b) God is vengeful, punishing and will consign the majority of humankind to an eternal Hellfire and damnation.

Choose this day who ye will serve
