Akphidelt' logic = the nba can do anything they want and Sterling can't do anything to counter it. No proof or citations to anything supporting such logic but he sure as hell is adamant that there is absolutely no other possible outcome.

They can pretty much do anything they want. It's their business. They aren't the government, lol. Sterling has signed enough contracts with the NBA to know what power the NBA has over him. You act like he owns the NBA. They just banned his ass for life and the most powerful person in the NBA said he would encourage and expects to have the support to force him to sell. He's small potatoes compared to the NBA.

How do you know what he thinks? He could drag it on forever, it wouldn't be the first time the legal process took forever. Not sure what about that you don't understand.

Exactly, bingo. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I don't know what he wants. It's my prediction that he is a smart business man and will take the best option. Like you said, the real world is boring. This will end up being very boring. The only alternative option I can see is him stepping down and giving ownership rights to a family member.

Rockets owner is next, no way he can refrain from making racist comments against asians if Lin keeps playing this bad.

That actually brings up a good point about the precedent it would set if they truly forced a sale.

What happens if somebody hacks into an owners email and finds a racist email from years ago?

What happens if some jackass films Michael Jordan on the golf course making a homophobic joke or saying "fa**ot"?

Kobe already did it. Didn't get banned, he got a 100K fine.

He's a money maker for the NBA. No possible way he'd get banned for life.

Yeah pandora's box for sure.

re: Lin....late in game 3 he drives to the hoop up 3 when he should've just let Portland foul him. Bricks layup then Batum gets a transition 3 and they gotta play OT. Last game he has Mo Williams steal it from behind up 1 (even though Mo was out of bounds)

Just awful for the Rice Rocket

I have made multiple posts in the NBA forum about him. He is horrible on both sides of the ball.

When he called the ref a faggot or whatever is what you are referring to?

Doesn't make it right but bigotry vs gays way more accepted than bigotry vs blacks in pro sports obviously....

yeah he called him a fucking faggot

One thing that is gonna suck out of this whole thing is anytime an athlete makes an anti-gay comment everyone is gonna be all like "Oh they ousted Sterling for racist comments, what about this guy!!?!?!"

I understand what some of you are saying but it seems to me you are underestimating the NBA's power. If he is hurting their image and bottom line they will force him out regardless. They are bigger than Sterling. I still do not believe he will be owner of the Clippers by start of next season.

And what about his immediate family? The NBA is in for a fight this coming year....

"He can litigate and slow it down as much as his resources and legal process will allow," says David Carter, a professor of sports business at the University of Southern California. "Or he can potentially dictate terms and say, 'I will sell the team, I will work with you, but you have to give me some ability to orchestrate that sale.'"

There is not going to be a fight. The owners will vote, he will sell or make an agreement to give up ownership rights to his family. Regardless, he's out as owner. Going to be easy for the NBA.

You sure are confident with absolutely nothing to back it up. And despite all of the lawyers with specific experience in antitrust law saying the complete opposite of what you're saying over and over again, you keep repeating the same company line. I give you credit for sticking to your guns.

I'm rarely wrong about real world activities. I'm objective and do not base my opinion on "what I believe". If that were the case, the movie drama scenario would be much better!
