The owners will vote, he'll be out. If he fights the owners he will lose very quickly. He does not own the NBA.

Very quickly? Do they not have courts in Alaska? I've seen divorces, property line disputes, etc, etc, etc go on for more than a year...this may be a BIT more complicated than that.

Not complicated at all. It probably won't even go to court. The NBA will get him out and quickly.

People are so weird. They honestly think everything in the world is some large conspiracy and everyone is tricking them. Guarantee you 99.99% of the owners dot their i's and cross their t's on everything they do. You think Cuban is dumb enough to carry a liability as big as these guys are claiming. Get out of here. This racist tape being leaked is probably the worst thing any owner has done in the NBA in the past 20 years.

It's funny how people think. No connection to the real world. They act as if everyone is Bernie Madoff or Donaghy and they were just the guys who got caught, lol.

It is not the NBA's decision to decide if he wants to fight it. They will try and pressure him into relinquishing control fairly quickly, but at the end of the day, the decision is his, if he wants to fight them.

Amongst other billionaires. You guys act like he's the baddest dude in the league, with the best legal team, and all the power. Please, the NBA will get his ass out quick.

You missed my point. You said he's no different than a franchise owner of a restaurant. I told you he's a billionaire. That makes him different than franchise owners of restaurants. Not many, if any, franchise owners are billionaires.

Yea, and his lawyers will tell him if you fight you will lose, your best option is to sell. He will sell. The only alternative I can see is if he makes some kind of agreement, like he will step down as owner, give the rights to his wife, and buy them some time to sell or keep the team. Otherwise, he's donezo. This case is closed.

Real life tends to not be as exciting as people think. Could Sterling go out similar to Sammy The Bull "bringing everyone down with him"? I guess, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Like I said, I doubt he is the NBAs Deepthroat but time will tell...

All that is gonna happen is Sterling is gonna get removed and some uber-rich consortium is gonna buy the Clipps andm ake a shitload on the next TV deal/re-doing local deal...Just a matter of how long it takes.

His best option is to sell....but he may be an old stubborn bastard. The value of the team may fall a bit with a long drawn out affair, but what's a few 100 million to this guy anyway if he wants to try and fight it.

Only in the movies. Most people are boring and do things normally. There isn't underground fraternities of people pulling strings throughout the world and tons of Vegas CEO's teaming up with Stern/Silver or the owners to rig basketball games. Lol.

I'm down for a bet, however I believe he will sell it on his own. He's smart enough to know he'll get much more money. The other option is he might give it to his wife or kid. Either way I don't think it will end up being a "forced sale". But it will happen before the start of next season.

Haha. You and I argued about this precise issue in another thread and you were adamant that the nba "would force him out,". I disagreed and you were adamant they would force him out. Glad to see you've changed your mind already. I'm not surprised.

That's why it's in quotes. Enfuego was defining a forced sale as the NBA selling it for Sterling. I don't think the NBA will end up selling it. I think he will be forced to sell it himself.

I'm not surprised you didn't comprehend that.

This is why I think it's going to get nasty in courts. Sterling is going to throw some large number out there with the TV deals or lost profits that in his mind he will be losing out on. Maybe 3 billion or higher.

Good point. There are plenty of millionaires out there. But billionaires are a horse of a different color that think outside the box. Sterling's next move could be totally unpredictable...

Greedy ass dudes like him, $100 million is a lot. He's not going to fight it. He'll take his best option, which will be to sell.

Not to disagree with you but he isn't really your typical billionaire that is a captain of industry or anything.

He basically bought an asset for 15mill 35 years ago and because of expotential growth in franchise values through growth of the NBA, he is a billionaire now.

I don't think it's different at all. He's a billionaire amongst billionaires. His legal team is no better than the rest of their legal teams.
