It will be easy. Cut and dry as it comes.

Put your money up then.

I'll put down a crisp $100 that says he will still be the owner of the Clippers come tip off of next year's NBA season.

Stipulations:

1) He can't sell the team on his own. He must be forced.
2) The bet doesn't end when the owners vote him off the island. It ends when he sells based on a court decision.
3) He can't voluntarily give the team to a relative or his estranged wife.

It ends when the NBA forces him to sell his franchise against his will.

I hope he drags this out, pissing people off (has nothing to do with racial issues) but rather due to my loathing for the NBA.

This would be great.. Stern and league were seemingly never questioned and nobody ever really dug on some major issues, especially donaghey and his association with other refs. Overall stern was a crook, and of course the network that (unfortunately) people look to for sports espn is in bed with the league.

It will be easy. You act like there aren't 29 other billionaires being represented by the best of the best. You guys act like this guy is bigger and more important than the league. He's done. It will be fast.

EASY? Not even the same fucking zipcode unless he just says forget it and sells...dont see him as this type.

I'm down for a bet, however I believe he will sell it on his own. He's smart enough to know he'll get much more money. The other option is he might give it to his wife or kid. Either way I don't think it will end up being a "forced sale". But it will happen before the start of next season.

I'd probably refrain from betting for both of you.

There are just so many i's to dot and t's to cross with a bet like that.

From my experience, 10 figure transactions can tend to take time and have a lot of caveats to them. Unless you guys get a lawyer to writeup the bet someone is gonna feel slighted.

Are you saying then the NBA will force him to sell or not?

I think it's clear. Unless he sells the team on his own, he will be the owner of the LAC upon tip of next year's season. The NBA will not force him to sell before tip.

It depends your definition of force. I consider the NBA saying "Either you sell the team or we will sell the team" as being forced regardless if what he chooses.

What if its tied up in court? What if its in the process of being sold but not official by then? A million little things man...

It is hardly the samething as betting Seahawks vs Broncos

You supporting a racist?? What a shock!

First of all, I am a minority. Second, it has nothing to with racism in this case for me. I want the NBA's laundry aired out. If you noticed, I barely commented on anything to do with the Sterling case.

Like they tell Sterling any of the sordid stuff. He is like the drunk uncle at Thanksgiving everyone just leaves alone.

Whatever chicanery goes on, I doubt he knows shit. If your looking for a Deepthroat to the NBAs watergate, don't think he is your guy.

You aren't suggesting the NBA can sell Sterling's team are you?

That's what I'm saying. He will be the owner of the team come tip of next year. AK says it will be fast. I say it will be tied up in court for a very long time. Many variables.

I take it you aren't familiar with how the judicial system works. Doesn't matter, money is not a concern in this case. Both parties have limitless resources. It just depends on how much of a headache he wants to cause. I guarantee there are least half a dozen owners he hates, including the Jim and Jeannie Buss. The guy is nearly 80, he has 10-15 years at best. He is going to fight these fuckers until the day he dies. It isn't just about ownership. Guys like Sterling (like him or not) are driven to win.

I dunno really, but I'd probably never bet on the legal process being swift and efficient in America, lol.
