This won't take long at all. He will not be the owner of the Clippers by next season.

You think courts work that fast? It's simple, he's not selling. They can't force him to sell unless a court says so.

You may be the only one on this forum that thinks this is cut and dry. Far from it.

EASY? Not even the same fucking zipcode unless he just says forget it and sells...dont see him as this type.

Dude, seriously, you must be retarded, are you? What does him being the biggest pussy or the baddest dude in the league have anything to do with this. Due understand what the challenge for the NBA is?

That's the exact opposite of what his legal team would advise him of. If a billionaire walks into your office and says he wants to enter into a multi-year litigation and hire your firm to represent him, you don't talk him out of it.

At least some of us get it. +1

You seem to have no idea of how the real world works.

Notice a law professor said this:

"I tend to believe the opinion of others with more expertise than myself." While noting this is going to be litigated for years.

And someone who is comically uninformed, has no relevant experience or education on the matter (and who has a low IQ) said:

Why this silly little kid insists on posting this silly blather every single day showing everyone he is an utter fool, isn't clear.

Hahahaha... just a treasure chest of comedy gold to go through.

Actual lawyer: this is incredibly tenuous legal standing

Your posts are parody.

I am not sure why Ak thinks this will play out quickly when petty much every analysis I have read says it could get tied up in court for years. I am not pretending to be an expert on the ins and outs of corporate and anti-trust law...... but one wonders why Ak thinks he is.

It will be quick and easy. Most likely won't even end up in court.

Your comically ignorant posts in this thread obviously won't stop you from posting more idiotic drivel.

This thread is pure comedy....Thank you Ak

No problem....thanks for being the joke!

And the truth is almost every antitrust lawyer out there says this thing will drag on for years if Sterling wants it to. This isn't my opinion, it's the opinion of the experts that actually study and practice law. Again, not my opinion. If you want reality, that's reality.

Am I going to believe the opinion of some random anonymous poster on an internet gambling forum or a licensed lawyer that practices this kind of law?

You tell me? Maybe I'm a retard.

I also dont pretend to know. I am not an anti-trust expert. But my general knowledge of the legal system is that big complicated cases where both sides have very deep pockets for unlimited legal fees can take years to sort out. I have no idea if Sterling could win or not..... but it seems pretty clear he could tie it up in the courts for a long time if he wants to. Ak basically is just spouting nonsense based on no evidence whatsoever.

<:)<:)

You should stop posting on this topic. The fact that you don't understand how embarrassing this post is, speaks volumes.

If there is someone with a lower IQ and less informed than you posting here, I've yet to see it.

I feel like Scrooge McDuck swimming in all this gold!! Hahahahahahaha

Thought you weren't posting at this site anymore. Or was that just a ploy for attention?

Los Angeles Times (MCT)

LOS ANGELES-Donald Sterling responded formally to the NBA’s attempt to terminate his ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday, saying it was illegal to oust him based on a “lover’s quarrel” that was “illegally recorded.”
Sterling’s response, obtained by the Los Angeles Times, included a cover letter that contended he had received offers “in excess of $2.5 billion” to purchase the franchise he’s owned since 1981. The potential buyers weren’t named.
Sterling said that his inflammatory remarks about blacks were made in a private conversation with V. Stiviano and became public when the TMZ web site published them in April.
The response goes on to claim Sterling was “distraught” when he made the statements because Stiviano told him she planned to bring “four gorgeous black guys to the game” and that should be a mitigating factor.
“This was an argument between a jealous man and the woman he loved that should never have left the privacy of the living room,” the response said.
The response further claims Sterling is hindered from conducting his own investigation of the matter because he’s “locked out of his office at Staples Center.”
In the aftermath of the recording, the NBA banned Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million. NBA owners are scheduled to meet in New York on June 3 to vote on ending the ownership of Sterling and his wife, Shelly. They co-own the team through a family trust.
The response claims next week’s hearing will “be neither fair nor impartial” because of other NBA owners’ public statements about the matter.
“If the Sterlings are forced to sell their interest in the Los Angeles Clippers, they will face vast and unavoidable financial consequences,” the response said.

Let Akphi gloat

It looks like it is going in the direction of him being right. I know he can be over the top annoying but this is a sports betting forum. Ultimately a site about making predictions based on analysis and he was on the right track here. I'll take an asshole that is right over listening to someone that is nice but always wrong anyday.

Unless Sterling is just doing some jedi mind trick on the NBA, then disregard what I just said.

Even if he is annoying and a weak debater or whatever...

He was right in his overall point that Sterling would back down and this resolution wasn't going to be nearly as dramatic and complex as people thought.

I respectfully disagree- He stated that Sterling had no legal recourse. Every single person arguing against him was stating, that if Sterling chooses to fight he could tie it up in litigation for a while. He eventually agreed to sell even without vote. My argument, along with many others wasn't about if he would sell, but rather if he could contest the sale if he chose to.

Well if you wanna say that then I guess it is possible. He did cite the bylaws and code of ethics that the NBA has as reasons that Sterling wouldn't bark up that tree.

Anyone can sue in America, doesn't really mean you have a case. I think he probably knew he wasn't holding a very good hand.

Makes me wonder if things had gone a little different if Sterling hadn't totally fucked up that interview with Anderson Cooper. I'm still amazed that they let him even get out and talk with a reporter, much less not coach him on what to say. Like I said early in this thread, you never know what a billionaire is going to do. Something also tells me that Sterling isn't done making headlines...

I will have to disagree with this. My argument was that he didn't have a case... not that he couldn't come up with some frivolous lawsuit if he wanted. And because he didn't have a case he would sell either on his own or the NBA would take over after they voted. Most people were arguing that he would hold this up in court for years and that this is no where close to being over. I said it will be done fast and quickly. And sure enough, my real world knowledge is correct again.

Lot of people here should use this as a lesson. You being one of them.

Yeah who knows...

If this dude did a total about face tomorrow and tried to sue I don't think it would shock anyone. His CNN interview was great TV.
