I mean I only paid over $60k in federal taxes last year..

That's what you get for not filing honest tax returns for over a decade. They make you catch it all up and it seems like SO MUCH.

"Joe" you're a lot closer to Dr. Pauls positions than you think.

You should be ashamed of yourself for some of the M/D BS you were posting about him. Although I think you were in fact more turned off by the posters here and his supporters abroad who agreed with him, than the man himself.

Ummm, hello? I said LEADER/NON-Washington insider.

Whether you and the other Paulestinians admit this or not, Ron Paul was part of "the system." His pork was part of the problem and the man had never shown any ability to author any bills, let alone lead the country back to it's greatness.

Paul was the eternal pessimist and every time he spoke, he sounded like everyone's crazy uncle out of the attic.

"thejdog", nobody half serious in America supported Ron Paul, c'mon.

The country needs a natural born leader who has GRAVITAS -- someone who doesn't attract and pander to every nutter from every corner in the country.

Capiche?

Fred Thompson would have been a solid pick, but the man must fit the times and -- like I said -- the time isn't here yet.

John McCain is a stopgap -- nothing more. McCain is the ONLY man in America right now who can stop B. Hussein Obama's quasi-communist vision.

I can't believe we have a Euro-trash far lefty running for president of the United States! :puke1:

Wow...what have I gotten myself into. Ignorance is bliss, like they say.

Republican party- Big business, less taxes, stimulate economy,

Democratic party- Rob from rich, give to poor, breed laziness, depress economy

Good luck with your 4 hour a day job or whatever it is you do. Oh, FYI. Never complained about paying taxes, just having to pay more because of the blind sheeple.
is that what republicans have been doing here in the last 8 years?? :nohead:

MARK L CONTRARIAN tells us in other thread he is no NeoCon, yet he continues to cite one of our country's most visible NeoCons as an admirable source of information.

I have no idea how any sane person can look at the unemployment rates in Europe and think democratic socialism is a good idea.
We don't really have real democratic socialism in europe anymore.

We have Liberalism, where the government uses tax revenue to "pay the bills" like welfare stuff, medicare etc, but the front line assets are owned by various private organisations.

Socialism is where the front line capital asset is wholly owned by the State, and the state gets the benefit from that asset.

Captive industries where consumers have no real choice are the best candidates for state ownership.

Oil. Power Generation. Public Transport. Water. Post Office etc

This also makes for better pensions and reinvestment, since there are no shareholders to tax the profitability of the entity.

im just trying to get why you guys think government spending is so bad if its done the right way.

look at canada, they were rated just as of last month as one of the happiest countries in the world. they have a surplus, live longer lives, and are better off because of the smart choices the government has made in its programs.

if you have effective government programs in place that benefit everyone, then i dont get why people wouldn't like it.

Of course Joe is.

I have a cousin in socal that claims hes a diehard righty/conservative.

When I mention Ron Paul to him, he snickers and bashes Paul.

He claims he isnt voting for Obama for he doesnt want higher taxes.

I explained to him that Ron Paul would like to dismantle the IRS.

Didnt matter to him...he is a f'n sheep like most people and still thinks RP and all his supporters are kooks.

Americans are getting the govt they deserve.

They have became a herd of sheep brainwashed to either be a faggy liberal or a right wing war machine.

Thats right Jambotwit....over 60k in taxes paid to the FED government. Hard to beleive that two hard working americans can earn over $300K in a year by going to college, starting at the bottom, WORKING YOUR ASS OFF, moving up the ladder, taking chances on a business and hold down a total of 3 jobs between the two of us (one which is a business). Oh, and have two kids to boot.

Amazing...like I say...maybe I can take on another job to pay the bills of the futile, lazy, unambitious and "WHERE MY CHECK AT" bottomdwellars that your beloved democratic party lobby for so heavily come election time.

Dont even insult me and call me a fanatical right winger because I am not. I beleive in many different values, one of them just happen to be the harder you work, the more you should make...not pay in taxes.

Blow me with your Saudi Arabia bullshit...and go get your EBT card.
You paid 20% in taxes? Personally I hate taxes but that doesn't sound that bad. Earn $6,000 a week and pay $500 in taxes. It is worse than that for most americans....way to go.

What exactly is "fair share"? A "progressive" tax? Why should higher earners pay a higher rate in taxes? Because they aren't as hard working as the lower classes? Because they aren't as honest as the lower classes? Because higher earners are just...ya know, LUCKY and "fairness" demands they give some of it back?

Enlighten us, Prof. Marx.

So THIS is where my federal tax dollars are going?

For the record that was only Fed Income Tax. I put nearly $80k into tax free investments like my house, boat, airplane,etc...

Just kidding. Like I told Jambo...if you paid more than me you are a liar, crook or both because I have a bunch of write offs.

My total tax bill for the year including all state and federal taxes was over 100k....

YOU HEARD ME? ONE HUNDRED FUCKING THOUSAND IN TAXeS.

And Obama will ask me for just a wee bit more....
