van halen's run from 77 to 84 was as good as any band over 7 years..

CCR was mentioned. Aerosmith , TP and the Heartbreakers and Bob Seger and the silver bullet band got votes.. Not sure the last 2 should count though.

the music was average at best....the music hasn't stood the test of time despite who the members were like other great bands..the songs sound worn and tired today... I turn to another channel when I hear a Eagles tune..

The eagles had 4 members go solo and have tremendous careers on there own. They had remarkable talent. Perfect combination
