Buffalo Springfield actually had 5 memebers go solo and have successful careers. Three of them were very successful. Neil Young, Stephen Stills and David Crosby. Two other members (Furay, Messina) formed Poco, who I liked even more than the Eagles. Messina also went on to form the highly successful Loggins & Messina. If you compare the original members careers of Buffalo Springfield to the Eagles it isn't even close. Buffalo easily wins. It's too bad that some of the members of this super group were so egotistic, or else if they had stayed together they would have certainly been considered the best American band ever...The eagles had 4 members go solo and have tremendous careers on there own. They had remarkable talent. Perfect combination
the Beatles
Oh hell yes. It's not even close. Nobody could touch the twin guitar attack of Duane and Dickey. Plus I think Gregg Allman is a much better songwriter than Jerry and Bob. The ABB songs have definitely stood up better with time than GD.

They were definitley two very different bands. So I understand your point. Chop, don't get me wrong on the Eagles. I think they were a great band. I loved their music. I wore out two 8 track tapes of On The Border when I was a kid. I just think other than Henley, the original members of that band weren't all that successful (or great) when they splintered off in solo careers. We will have to agree to be way on opposite ends of the spectrum here then. Love ABB too so s'all good. :toast:
so you think Glen Frye, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Meisner? Schmidt? Are clearly better than George Harrison?
wasn't my question. Which 4 eagles were better than Harrison?
