Congrats Tampa Luke, you successfully helped sway FOUR cappers on this board to lose their money... and they all helped convince me to middle this instead of letting it ride. Nice call Big Wave. I don't think we'll see Luke around here awhile. Tampons typically run away from Preds fan after the game when it doesn't go their way. Screw history.

If Tampa is 3 points greater than Orlando, I'll drop the house I don't own yet on Orlando -22.5... lol... Man victory over the Storm is great. Opening kick returned for a TD in Vegas.

Unless you bet heavy in anticipation of a line move for a middle or scalp, its usually wise to keep your original wager as it is only getting stronger as the line moves. I was very tempted to bet back for the middle shot when I could do it at +3.5 with no juice but when The Shrink himself says not the way to play it, I stood pat.....Good Call Guru, and thanx Shrink for confirming the right way to play it.

I'll live... I'll trade the 5 units for the Orlando victory. Blowing out Tampa is always fun. Guess I just lost my house on Orlando -22.5... lol... Stoney Case... STONEY FREAKIN' CASE threw a TD. Final score, YOUR Or-laaaaaaaan-dooooooooo Predators 61, the Tampa Bay Storm 46.

Guru, if you are going to go out like a punk that is too bad. I don't think I swayed anyone to go anywhere. Look back at the thread. I didn't bet the game because of you. I clearly posted that and gave you nothing but respect.

Last week you said you looked forward to the trash talking, I thought you could handle it. I separated my trash with the serious handicapping posts. I am not going anywhere. If you think one regular season game is going to erase a three Arenabowl lead you are crazy.

As for the Patriots reference by Big Wave, didn't the Pats lose to the Steelers this year? So I really don't get that reference. Your roomate is a bigger loser than the Storm were tonight. Where was he all week?

Yeah I am pissed. I am pissed that they looked so bad and I am pissed that the guy that saved me money by keeping me off the game is acting like a punk. Still my handicapping was sound. It was a bad spot in terms of value for the Predators. It worked out for you this time congrats.

Look Luke, it's trash talk. You gave it too. If you can't take the heat of losing, stay out of the kitchen. And if you don't know that this is how BOTH Predators fans and Storm fans act (the good ones anyway) when their team wins, especially in such convincing fashion, then you're not a true fan yourself.

And I don't know any winning wager to have "bad value." New York/Las Vegas 13-7 after 8 minutes, which is solid... Austin is down 10 and the ball after a net recovery by LA that probably screwed our chances of a cover.

27 points, 3 minutes left in the 1st quarter.

Austin's in trouble. Down 17 with the ball starting the 4th.

Wow that's right, they didn't even cover your tease number. Sucks North Bay. I thought it was for certain a great call.

Austin is in the loss column... Up to New York and Las Vegas to get enough points to salvage an even night.

Come on this isn't trash talk. You are blaming me for you hedging your bet. Big Wave and your buddy maybe but you are getting personal. And value is value, win or lose. If you thought the Preds were so much better why did you hedge? You are the expert. You are riding high on the win. I understand. I logged on to concede and give you even more respect than I did all week. My team is getting there heads kicked in and you are taking really personal shots at me and I am not supposed to get a little offended? Let me remind you I didn't even log on until they were losing. I specifically did so to not run and hide. I think I have let you take enough shots, now I am done. Last time I am going to say congrats on the win.

Look Luke, I'm going to say this... Ace posted taking Tampa, which clearly influenced more people than you did. You didn't influence anything. I'm just taking shots. If you are looking for an apology, I'm sorry for it. The boards were looking for someone aside from a Preds fan to back Orlando in this game and no one did it. Not that I expect you to back the Preds, whether you believed that they would cover or not. It's nothing required of you. The fact that you were hard core and insistent that there was value on Tampa was just another voice against the Preds that some people may or may not have been looking for. A lot of people thought I was homing the pick, and I think that it is seen now that I clearly did not. I already plan on suggesting to the board to take Dallas next week over Orlando outright, because Orlando loses one of these games they have no business losing every year.

Anyway, though it seems like a personal attack, it's really meant to be in the spirit of the game. My roommate only likes to chime in when I actually win... And he usually does so with far too many animations for his own good. I thought Big Wave's shot was pretty funny myself. Yes, the Patriots lost to the Steelers, but perhaps the more apt team for you WOULD be the Steelers. A dynasty of MANY years ago that isn't returning for awhile, and will collapse against the pressure of superior teams now, because your QB isn't named God or Jesus like the AFL "experts" now dub him. Congrats on torching Austin and San Jose sans Clevan Thomas.

And regardless, we'll have this fun and games again in about 6 weeks when we meet again in Tampa. And win, lose, or draw (now a tie... THAT would be funny... I think if a tie ever happened in Orlando, the city would burn), I know I'll have fun talking the crap before, during, and after the game.

Oh, and I blame myself for getting talked into hedging my bet. I sat there all week and said I wasn't going to do it, and I did it about three hours before the game. Shame is on me. Austin's down 23, LV/NY still at 27. Vegas might win this game outright... Warned you all it could happen. Wish I put my money where my mouth was.

Adding:

New York @ Las Vegas over 47.5 2nd half (2 units -105): Rod Robinson was my main concern in the game... he's 13 for 18, and regardless of the 2 picks, I believe we have an over game. I know this basically puts us back where we started (total 95.5), but I'm confident now that we won't have an 11 minute stretch of no scoring like we did in the first half.

tampaluke,

Please don't take this the wrong way, but in the interest of harmony and the happy feeling on Guru's thread it might be a good idea for you to start your own thread, and stay off Guru's.

Best wishes, and I hope you have good luck with all your plays.

Wow. I'll have to say the shots at Luke are a tad uncalled for. Two cappers of the league for their respective teams see the game for their home side and one wins (and he obviously saw it close enough to cancel/:toast: hedge himself). No need to try and alienate (sp) the other guy who was on the wrong side. We'll all make more money down the road, no worries.

anyways, the beer drinkers were supposed to be at the end but I'm too drunk to move 'em. Good Luck.

Hmm... okay, first real bad night of the year. I went to bed after New York couldn't score anything from first and goal on the 1. If I wasn't sick I'd would've gotten smashed after that... Anyway, recap.

Orlando (pk) vs. Tampa Win (+6.15 units)
Tampa (+3.5) @ Orlando Loss (-5 units)
Austin (+7 and ml) vs. Los Angeles Losses (-3 units)
New York vs. Las Vegas over 95 Loss (-3 units)
New York vs. Las Vegas over 47.5 2nd half Loss (-2 units)

Daily recap
Record: 1-4
Net: -7.15 units

YTD
Record: 10-9 (looks much worse now... ouch)
Net: +7.85 units

Turning it around Sunday with San Jose and New Orleans

And don't worry about Tampa Luke. I think it's buried now. I don't let things like this get on my nerves. If he doesn't like it, he'll go away. I'm not stopping what I do because of anything or anyone else on here as long as I'm still wanted.
