you said it best "buffalo is the real deal"...turner gill is the real deal....he has this team believing they can win...i was on them in week1 vs utep and last week vs pitt and they held their own very well vs' a preseason top25 team....temple off another heartbreaking loss last week vs uconn....

buffalo is my best bet of the weekend....

gl i enjoy reading your writeups every week
I like this play too Husker...The only reason it's not bigger for me is because when teams get into MAC conference play, things tend to tighten up considerably. That's why I also took Akron and the points. But Buffalo will definitely be a contender for the MAC title. And Temple is on the same side of the bracket. So this is a must-win situation for Buffalo to protect their home turf.

Mizzou Is Definitely The Right Play And I Am With You As Well On Usf. Always Respect Your Opinions And Writeups But Your Selection Of Maryland As Best Bet Of Week Is Surprising. Maryland Will Have To Likely Keep Bears Under 28 Points To Cover In This Game. I Don't See That Happening. Maryland Has Shown To Be A Decent Defensive Team And A Lousy Offensive Team. Again Both Teams They Played Are Cupcakes And They Are 1-1 Barely Beating Delaware At Home. Cal Has Beat A Decent Msu Team And Beat Up A Wsu Team In Disseray But Still Much Better Competition Than What Maryland Has Played And Beat Both Of Them Solidly. Going Cross Country For Cal And Home Game For Maryland Are Both Terripin Advantages But Not Enough Here Imo. Love To Hear Your Responses On This One Again. I Believe This One Gets Ugly In The 2nd Half If Not Sooner As Maryland Has No Confidence To Speak Of Going Into This Game. Great Start To The Season!

its got me twisting my feet here in the coozy confines of my office

In other news GS I think your (and everyone else for that matter) underestimating the potential of Purdue v Oregon possibly stealing the show this weekend.

Cal could give Maryland a thrashing unlike any they have seen in awhile in College Park. I respect your opinion but this game should not be anyone's best bet. Maryland simply is not good this year. Cal traveling cross country has no effect whatsoever on the outcome. These kids are 20, not 50. Cal has all the momentum. Maryland is down. If you play for Maryland, what is your mindset right now?? No coaching can fix an attitude of thinking how they just lost to shitsville state, barely beat the blue hens, and now get Cal on national tv who just put up 100 on a team similar to ours. I'm exaggerating of course but I think you get it. Don't underestimate how football and all sports for that matter is a game of emotion and I'd rather be Cal's psychologist right now than Marylands.

That being said, I did call you out last year when you liked OU -50 over N Texas and you won so what do I know, right? Good luck with all of your plays.
I understand everything your saying. Cal is hot. They've given everydoy they've played a thrashing. And they're looking to do it again. Do you think these things didn't go through my mind when capping this game? I'm not any different than anybody else. I try to weigh the positives and negatives of both teams. Sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong. I looked at these positives about Cal. But then I looked at the negatives. I saw where last season this same Cal team knocked off Tennessee in their first game in front of a national audience. And earned a top 5 rating. Everybody thought they were worldbeaters. They then went to Colorado State the next week as 14 point favorites and barely escaped with a 6 point win. Sound familiar? I guarantee you CSU wasn't as good last season (3-9) as this Maryland team. After that close game Cal then went on to wipe the floor of Arizona, but then lose at home as 2 TD favorites to Oregon St., and then proceeded to go on a 3 game losing string and then losing 6 out of their last 7 games. including a loss to Stanford!. Despite beating WSU, this team has a terrible ATS road record under Tedford. And they are all over the map. They are NOT a consistent team at all.

Kojak, you can read my opinion of this CAL team up above in my response to Poet. I know things appear bleak for Maryland. It kind of reminds me of the game last night. Most people on here were taking Rutgers because they figured North Carolina is going to struggle in the game because they barely got by 1AA McNeese State 35-27 in their first game. Appearances can be deceiving. And I've always been more of a situational/matchups than a numbers capper. CAL could really be THAT good this year. But CAL has a long history of breaking your heart when you like them the most..We'll just have to see if they've overcome it. Three scores is still quite a few points to give another BCS conference bowl caliber team on the road.

I'm going to have a go and play the Baylor-WSU total (UNDER 49.5) ** Two inexperienced QB's. Bad weather conditions. Wet field.

GS-

stay strong brother... you do a write-up and then get questioned... why don't they just read the write-up..?? it explains everything there..!!

or you can just direct them to my thread for more reasons why we're on a +14.5 home dog...

btw-there's a reason this line is dropping...

I started noticing this yesterday and just had a feeling it was headed down more. Apparently everybody is on CAL except the cigar smoking men behind the tinted glass windows.

Still looking at New Mexico this week?
Clutch...The New Mexico starting QB suffered a neck injury in the TCU game, and they say he's really been struggling with the injury and is nowhere near 100%. So I'm probably going to have to pass in putting this in my thread.
