Adding:
1*WV/Syracuse under132

I am going to try my first total tonight.I have played some, but never posted.
WV likes to extend their zone and with their size inside, they can make it difficult to score. The highest total they have played in a Big East home game is 138.With Syracuse also willing to sit in a zone and play low scoring games,I cannot see this game getting out of the fifties.

Low Tide:

Good luck with your Totals play tonight. The Cuse definitely control the pace of most games. So you might be on to something here.

LowTide Like your plays today good luck, thanks for the Kudos, I don't get involved with that crap. Some people just like their egos to get boosted a little, if everyone posts a year to date record then they have nothing to complain about! Hope Miss St. blows the doors off them!

3*UAB-8

I guess you can call this my game of the year, but I do not like to make such promises.Anyway,I watched these two play in Birmingham and it was a complete mismatch because of UAB's pressing defense.UAB will press the entire game-they were pressing when they were up by 30 in the second half.USF's injury problems have been well documented and they have nothing to play for here. The Blazers will not let down here-they lost at Tulane last week and they know they cannot afford another misstep if they want to make to the tourney.I know the Bulls have played teams better at home, but I see no problem laying the chalk here.

Editing to add to bet.

Jaypaw,
I would hate to steer you wrong, but after watching these two teams earlier,I cannot see UAB losing this game.I cannot offer you any other teams because this is the only game I am playing tonight.Good luck with your decision.

lowtide,

I see UAB is your play of the day. I was liking So. Florida. Was curious to know why besides obvious of UAB winning earlier matchup by about 40 and fighting for tournament at large. I saw a similar game yesterday in the NBA in Lakers/Hawks where Lakers won by about 50 in first game and Hawks came back to pull upset at home with similar line of about 8. So Florida has been a lot more competitive of late since that game and always plays fairly well at home.Best of luck as I am not trying to support my side but if your reasons are solid may drop play as I know you are knowlegeable of UAB.

Kojak,
I agree that USF is playing better lately.I like the tourney angle for UAB,but I like the matchup better.

UAB will press the entire game and USF was completely inept at handling the pressure in the first matchup. The point guard was quick to pick up his dribble and his teammates were very late to help out.The Bulls play better when they can play halfcourt ball because they are a poor shooting squad, but UAB will force the tempo here. Most importantly,USF has only a 6 man rotation so I see them wearing down against the UAB pressure which does not stop regardless of how big the lead is.

Of course, most intelligent cappers do not lay 8 on the road for a big play and the line is dropping so who knows. One last note-I am not a UAB fan in the least-I am a Bama fan.I just happen to love this matchup.

Low Tide,

I watched So. Florida play last Thurs vs Marquette and they seemed to play better when running than when they played the half court. Was this unusual or have they improved? I can tell you that Marquette nearly gave up to cover due to their poor transition defense as they could not stop the fast break. Maybe, UAB simply matches up better.

In regards to your Tide tonight, I was leaning towards Arkansas? Any opinion on that one.

The Tide have generally not done well at Arkansas regardless of the circumstances.Emmett Thomas is questionable and he has really given them a boost off the bench with his 3 point shooting. These two factors will make me sit out and just root for them.

As for the Marquette game,I did not see it.Perhaps they have.I attended the first game and made a note that I would play this matchup again.I have to admit I have only seen a little of USF since that first matchup, but I still feel UAB will wear them down.

Did USF have any injuries the first time they played or suspensions? The reason I am hesitant to have pulled trigger on this one was UAB's laying egg down at Tulane when they were 8 point favorite and loss outright. I know you are one of the best, so I might simply make this a no play.

USF has lost 3 players(3 of their top 8 I would say) this year due to various reasons.Check the Marquette box score-6 guys played all but 3 minutes. In the Houston game 5 players logged all but 4 minutesThey tried to give some minutes to 6'9 fresman Diarra against ECU but he does not appear to be ready.I just see UAB as a difficult matchup for them-Marquette could not handle UAB's pressure either as they had 22 turnovers.UAB will play 11-12 guys and be all over them all night.

If my opinion sways you in any way, just make it a no play.I would not back a team that is 1-13 in the conference unless you are sure. There are plenty of games out there tonight.

Well the damage to my bank account is minimal because of the first half play, but the damage to my ego is unmeasurable.Kojak,I apologize for taking money out of your pocket and I apologize to the forum because I know we went back and forth about this game today.

Some interesting stats from the game:
UAB up by 12 at halftime.
Turnovers:USF-16,UAB-6
Free Throws:USF13-16,UAB 3-4
Shooting:USF23-44,UAB 26-69

So UAB gets 25 more shots and can barely win the game.Of course,USF hits 52% from the field for their yearly high.In the end you can only come to one conclusion:I suck.

YTD 121-86(58.45%)+58.6* Plays rated 1-4*

Took the day off from posting because I have been off lately.Plenty of guys posted DePaul and ND,the two games I liked. Most conference tournament plays will be 2*s as anything can and usually does happen.

2*Bradley-4
Gilbert really struggled when he returned from injury but he seems to be back in step lately as he got to the line 22 times against SMS.This team is heating up and they probably feel like they can do a lot of damage in the MVC tournament.

2*Iona-1.5
"It's hard to beat a team 3 times in a season."
I guess that is why the move is on Canisius.I just like Iona here-the Gaels finished the season strong by picking up wins over St.Peter's and Rider.Canisius has faded down the stretch without Dewitt Doss. After today they will be on permanent vacation.

2*William and Mary -3.5
I know there are prettier matchups on the board. These two teams split the regular season meetings, but W&M has been more competitive on the whole even though these teams have identical league marks.# deciding factors for me:
1.Towson is the league's worst shooting team and consequently lowest scoring.
2.Towson is habitually looser with the ball than WM as they have more turnovers than assists.
3.WM has the best player on the court with Adam Hess averaging 20 a game.

Good luck to everyone today.
