A bit too much love for Nigeria IMO with money continuing to pour in on the African side. I spoke with a larger book in the city here today and he mentioned getting crushed with bets on Nigeria, many from bettors who haven’t really been playing the WC at all. I’m not sure what is causing this phenomenon, but I’m going to fade it.
Neither team has much of an offensive presence and tends to play stringer defense. Iran is difficult to gauge, as they played against some very questionable opposition, so there numbers may be inflated. There is virtually zero international talent on this side, but they appear to some team chemistry, which can be invaluable. Nigeria won the African Cup of Nations, but I’m not sure if that means much as the African Cup of Nations winner rarely even makes to WC due to Egypt’s shocking inability to qualify. The last few that did fizzled out in the group stage.
Neither team has won a WC match in nearly twenty years, which may not be shocking for Iran, but certainly is for Nigeria IMO. They have failed time and time again to deliver, so I can’t see them as heavily favored as they are in this spot. A key to the match could be Iran’s strong set pieces versus Nigeria’s questionable defense versus set pieces. Under 2 looks promising, but the way goals are flying, I’ll pass.

I’m a big fan of Ghana and think they match up very well with the US squad. That being said, this could be good opportunity for the US to get a point. I was leaning draw in the match earlier, but after the result earlier I wonder if both sides smell blood in the water and have to know the three points here could really put them in good standing advance.
I was originally thinking both teams to score, but at the current price I’ll have to pass. Ghana is excellent in front of the net and should be able to find plenty of success against a suspect US back line. The African side also plays well as front runners, so for US to have a reasonable chance they need defend the early onslaught from the Ghanians and/or create something early. The US struggle with set pieces defensively, which plays into one of Ghana’s strengths. Klinsmann makes me nervous, as I think he could pull the rabbit out of the hat with this bunch, but I’m going to back Ghana here.

I'm not too concerned, but you never know. That Asamoah, Muntari, Atsu, Gyan flank has me concerned as thye should give the US fits all match. I would prefer to see Zusi in the starting 11 for the US as will. Should be a good one, the US won't roll over, but they may have their hands full, but what more could you expect in the WC.
