Huskers,

My apologies I just saw this. I believe you are looking at the correct bet. I think this number got steamed because it was -145 at 5Dimes this morning and -130 at BetOnline. I actually have access to some books in Europe and this wager was placed at Bet365. I will confirm if the line drastically moved between the time of the wager being placed and my post.

Best of luck.

Impressive performance from the Colombians. I expected both Colombia and Belgium to possibly start slow after extended absences from the biggest stage, but the former certainly didn't pan out.

0.3 Costa Rica +0.5, 1.0 +130
0.2 Costa Rica ML +800

No real logic here other than fading Uruguay. They caught lightning in a bottle in South Africa and just don't see them striking it rich twice. That being said, they should still win and possibly win convincingly versus the Ticos, but I will take a flier. Uruguay are suspect defensively and in the midfield, so there is a chance for an undermanned and outclassed Costa Rica side to find the back of the net. Can this hold off a furious Uruguay attack, even without Suarez, is another story.

Uruguay need the full points and likely need to strengthen goal differential within the group, but a need doesn't necessarily make it a reality. Chile, who I favor much more than Uruguay, had some tense moments against a more game than expected Australian side yesterday. Can Costa Rica bring similar grit and determination?

Best of luck.

I'll bite, even though I can hear the bookies chuckling in the background.

0.5 Italy/England Draw +200

Everything seems to be pointing to the draw in this situation. There are temperature/weather concerns and i have heard rumblings both coaches mentioned things along the lines of "not wanting to push things in fear of burning their legs in the opener". That could be all posturing, who knows.

With Uruguay losing, we could see a more conservative approach where neither side wants to lose versus going all out for the three points. England are notorious for drawing early in major tournaments and if the reports are accurate they are continuing to start the wrong line up IMO. I'm just going a half unit here because something stinks a little to me. I am starting to hear a little voice tell to take Italy, who are now over +200 at some shops. This is likely an over reaction to the Buffon injury. I'll stink to my original thoughts and play the draw.

Best of luck.

Jles,

My apologies - I just saw your post. The draw didn't come through....onto the next.

Best of luck with your action.

Already posted (#140):

1.0 Japan +188
0.5 Anytime goal scorer Kagawa +350

Adding:

0.3 Japan -1.5 (+450)
0.3 Both teams to score and Japan wins (+425)
0.2 Japan team goals Over 2.5 (+500)
0.1 Kagawa scores twice or more (+2000)

I'm high on this Japanese side and down on Ivory Coast. I like Japan to blitz IC early and force them to shut it off mentally, which is a criticism I have had of this side and some of its stars for sometime. Defensively, I'm not impressed with either side and both are loaded offensively. The biggest difference for me is Japan are mentally tough, play disciplined and always fight, no matter what. I can't say the same for the Ivory Coast who tend to fold a bit when things aren't going as planned. Throw in the huge Japanese contingent in Brazil and this may feel like a home match for them. I'm thinking something like 3-1 for the Samurai Blue.

Continued success.

I like Japan tonight also! Best of luck tonight ERock! I hope they crush IC!

Japan had them early and really needed to show some more killer instinct. I can't fathom why they started to sit back early in the second half, especially with the quality striking IC possess.

Not much time today, but here is what I played. I'll try and stop by later with some thoughts, if possible.

0.5 Switzerland/Ecuador Draw +225
0.2 Anytime goal scorer Shaqiri +300

0.5 Honduras +1.5 (+102)

0.5 Argentina -1.5, -2 (+136)
0.3 Argentina win to nil (+125)
0.3 Anytime goal scorer Aguero +105
0.1 Argentina 3-0 +900

Happy fathers day gents, enjoy the day and may your plays cash.

Continued success.

Would you lean towards the over in the France game? I am thinking 2-0 with maybe a late goal either way as Honduras pushes forward...

I’m riding Germany to cruise past Portugal today. I have envisioned this group playing out Germany routing Portugal then coming back to earth and possibly being upset by Ghana. Portugal will rebound from this blowout to blowout the US.

I’m just not in love with this Portugal side, of course there is Ronaldo, but they are lacking much more than recent Portuguese sides, especially defensively. Carvalho will need to be huge for Portugal to really make some noise IMO and that could be asking a bit much of the youngster.

Portugal seems to always show well in major tournaments, even with plenty of distractions, poor form and the like during their qualification runs. Ronaldo could carry this team, but I don’t think you will see it versus Germany, with health a question, who Portugal has struggled mightily with in recent history.

1.0 Germany +110
0.5 Over 3.5 +200
0.3 Germany -1.5 +235
0.2 Germany -2 +540
0.1 Germany 4-1 +3300

Wow how awesome would 4-1 be. Nice call so far.

huge red card for Pepe....best defender can't play vs USA and now goal differential would be brutal for Port if it goes to that
