You guys have a twisted sense of reality if you think doc won that poll. Almost 2/3 of the pollers were UPSET with the unbanning of doc and felt that he deserved at least a couple week ban.

This isn't a rightwing attack like you claim. I think the majority of the voters are actually non-righties.
Yes. Couple weeks does not = permaban. And stop saying dumb things like "You guys have a twisted sense of reality."

The meat of your poll was should he be perma-banned. Which lost 24-22.

IF you feel Doc is negative, allow him everywhere BUT BAN him from the Rubber Rooom, with the stipulation that in Off-Topic, no political discussions--- or kaput entirely-- at the same time warn everyone not to take potshots at him, under penalty of........ You won't be disenfranchising / depriving Doc really, as most of the rest of the web is one giant Rubber Room.

Let Doc contribute positively with sports(which he does)-- what we're all about.

And everything should return to 'some' degree of civility/normalcy-- at least so far as normal Rx standards.

Should he then mess up, few will be able to really blame his exit on the Mods.

JMHO-- & "for the little that i contribute here", i've never had one single incident with Doc..but then again, i'm just too busy with a lot of other things to be looking for trouble with anything/anyone.

I had more of a problem with the Alcohol-Abusing Quick Draw McGraw previous management that let stand all types of insults, but just edited/deleted/moved posts willy-nilly for supposedly veering a bit off-topic:
that tells me someone either doesn't care about me(& most posters) or thinks i'm a dweeb: editing a polite person's posts willy-nilly(without even a warning or PM...just letting the person search endlessly for his thread), while letting attacks against that person stand.

Best Wishes to ALL.

Doc. is a political academician who commands our respect. To ban him is to trivialize the contributions he makes in this site. If he goes, I go. This vote is foolish and it's outcome is sadly predictable. Since he has been back he has behaved and shown much restraint enduring individuals calling him bad name. This poll has to be a tomfoolery or something. Very disturbing indeed!

I think the last week has been the best week ever in Political Forum history. Great debates and very little rancor. And Doc has been very polite. Good job Doc!

Just a couple days ago, Doc responded to a post of mine by calling me names...the mods had to delete it.

I said he was polite, not perfect.:puppy: And I do not see all posts here - Thankfully! P.S. I am sure if you had gone along with the program, Doc would have been polite to you also. LOL!

I'm paying every single dime for my college you little prick. By no means am I spoiled and you are ignorant for thinking so. You also thought I was a rightie, so that goes to show how clueless you really are.

Remember my 60% season in NCAAB? I know you do because you posted in some of my threads, even though you never posted any of your guaranteed picks. That paid for a semester.

He should be gone simply because the mods want him gone. The majority of the forum also wants him gone for good.

I'd contend the middle choice worked in Doc's favor, an old pollster trick.

A Simple Yes or No, I'd be willing to bet Doc would have lost that one, like he's losing this one.

For the life of me I do not get how anyone enjoys his posts. He NEVER makes a valid point of his own.

70% in favor of the ban, quick, close the poll and ban his ass!! i wouldn't let his ass vote either!! what a fcking joke this has become!!

The joke was that a poster that head moderator Wilheim decided to ban was allowed to return after only four days.

Another joke was that Xpanda was basically hired to moderate problems caused by Doc. Doing her job, she compiled (mostly from Doc) hundreds of spam and otherwise ignorant posts, and with Wilheim decided to permanently ban Doc. A few of those posts included specific vulgar and otherwise uncalled for attacks directed at Xpanda.

IMHO, that itself deserved a lengthy and possibly permanent ban. Similar type posts directed at other mods and/or posters has caused other posters to be banned from this site.

Very little debate here at this political forum. Mostly repetitive babble and backslapping. Have a peek at the threads recently started in this forum and honestly post the quality of your findings.

KTVVEGAS said it best...no point posting in this forum with so much nonsense and very little quality threads.

Doc long ago deserved a permanent ban, but since RX mgt has already allowed his followers to override two moderators collective decisions, a reasonable compromise would be for a somewhat lengthy indefinite ban.

Also, with all the BS he has placed into hundreds of threads, an indefinite ban of a month or months would be appropriate.

After a lengthy indefinite ban, if the spam and bashing again happens, a permanent ban would be justified.

Otherwise, RX may as well combine the political forum with the rubber room, for more often than not the threads will be very similar.

I guess it didn't lose because 62%+ are in favor of the indefinite ban. 60% is a landslide victory. Faced with the option of an indefinite ban or a couple week ban the middle voters picked the indefinite ban.

No one enjoys his posts Koi. They enjoy the consequences. No righties on here mean they've "won"...the battle of ideas is no more.

Should The Rx. allow Doc Mercer to continue posting in the Political Forum???

I am going to revisit the issue one more time and settle the Doc Mercer issue once and for all.

Please vote in the poll either yes or no.

Thanks, wilheim

Could you be any more gutless?

Christ, how much more time and bandwidth are you fuckers going to waste on that moron?

Just ban him and be done with it. In less than a month, when you can actually have a debate without it being hijacked or no longer have to go to page 3 to read the topics that have been spammed off the front page people will forget doc. Very few of his supporters(i.e. succo43) contribute anything of value. Let them all go and talk to themselves at EOG.

Outside of the 911 nutjobs, there is a lot of potential for this forum. But if he stays, I will beg you to ban me from this forum to remove any and all temptation to return to what will undoubtedly continue to be a shithole.

Just wanted to add, why would the republicans on this forum vote to not ban Doc? This is not going to be an unbiased poll.....it is going to be about POLITICS ;)

Much respect is what i have for you and appreciate the insight you possess not only in gambling but in life and business as well, that being said we shall have to agree to disagree on a permanent ban for doc. If you will review some threads you will see i asked doc on several occasions to calm down and defended xpanda when i thought she was besmertched not only by doc but others as well. I realize this is not a "democratic" forum, it's a business, but as one who served this nation to defend it's rights and those of it's citizens it bothers me deeply to see one's voice "silenced". I am finished with this debate as it's outcome is clearly written in this thread. I for one will not view the political forum as much because it will be without the checks and balances that should remain intact. :toast:

The nutjobs are the people who buy the propoganda that is the official legend of 9/11.
