I played in a tournament when I was still working and the entry was a little over 1k. I won it and it paid 90k. I talked it over with the wife and although she wasn't thrilled about it, I was pretty confident I would be able to go back to work if it didn't work it. It turned out to work out and she was a little better about it then. Lol. Althouh she thinks I should go back to work now, just because I'm not doing much. As you can tell from my posts here. The people that gave us the most hassle about it were her parents. Very conservative people and thought it was a bad idea. They still have a problem with it actually.
So, you hate your righty in laws ? It was do or die for me. No going back to the mill. It's been rough at times, but things have worked out. Haven't fared as well as you, but good for you. Was just curious how the wife felt. Mine was really worried. Guess she just didn't realize how talented I was.

Nah... love my in laws. All righties and my wife's sister is married to a real staunch conservative....but we do everything together with their kids(my nephews) very close with them. We don't talk politics much because we know how each other stands.

I would have never done it had a not one that 1k buy in. That gave me leeway with the wife and it's prob the only reason she wasn't freakin out about it. Gave me a decent bankroll to enter larger tournaments and things worked out for about 7 months....was very lucky...won about every race for months....and amazing luck in some cases....once the run ended I gave some back, knew it was over and scaled way back.

I started this thread and voted no, but I have to admit that after reading all of Vit's responses, I believe him.

The story is a bit different in actuality that it initially came across. I certainly don't think he's a great poker player, I think he's
assessing the situation accurately when he says that he's a pretty good player that went on a hot streak and hit some big payouts.

So, if it means anything, I apologize to Vit for calling him a liar on this issue.

As far as calling him a liar about other statements in here, well that's another story.

lol. Im not saying im a great poker player.....I watch the pros and how they are...they make moves i could never make. It was just a streak that went on for a short period but a big return. Thats it.

And just to add to it....my dad had died of cancer and it was 2 months after his death that this happened. Im always bummed out that he wasnt alive to see it.....only because we never really had alot and he was huge sports fan...coulda done alot of shit with the winnings that he woulda loved. If he was still alive, would that ever have happened??? Im not a religious person but that is something i think about....only because, as poker players know....you can play everything right but some luck is needed....and i was lucky with every single race i had. Literally couldnt lose one in months

Sorry to hear about your dad Vit, I lost my mom to cancer when I was 34, probably the worst day of my life.

Thx...same to you. My dad walking around healthy one day...6 months later gone...pancreatic.

our family has had it bad lately in that dept. We have a huge family but very very close... My aunt died dec 21 2012 and then one of my uncles the day after xmas....both of cancer. Brother beat testicular cancer about 8 years ago. It runs wild in our family....fucking brutal disease.

Tell you this....if that would happen to me...i would never go thru the chemo stuff...watched 3 people die a shell of themselves towards the end. No way im going out like that.

I found out on a Friday that my mom was diagnosed with liver cancer, I flew up to see her the next Monday, and by the end of the week she was gone.

In one sense that was a good thing, because we didn't have to watch her struggle through months and months of chemo - but it was hard having her go so fast. I was thankful I had a chance to tell her how much I loved her, and how much she meant to me.

I hear ya...it's a tough thing to watch a parent or someone youre close to slowly die. The one positive thing we had for each of them...like you did....is you get to tell them those type of things.....instead of a sudden death where you dont get that chance.

This thread is getting way too mushy.
The very foundations of the political forum is in danger.
Just last month the Ak Vs Snoop element was eliminated when snoop lost a bet and banned himself.
Now we have fz and vitt loving each other.

Whats next?

Only thing left to look forward to is maybe Bfl making an appearance or Willie admitting he was wrong about a prediction.

The odds of either one of those things happening is low so I am very bearish about the long term prospects of this forum. All the leading indicators point to a long political forum recession.

I think we need a big stimulus package of a bunch of fuck you's from somewhere. If this don't happen this forum will be in a depression not seen since the days of doc mercer.

Snoop vs Akphi a little too creepy for my tastes, that shit was weird.

Goes who was a no-show yet again for the weekly RX poker tourney. Even though he spends more time in here
than anyone.
