I apologize to the poly forum vets, evidently Vitterd's claims have been questioned before I landed here. I didn't realize there was an 8 page thread from 2 1/2 years ago.
I went to a buddy and neighbor of mine to see if he would be interested a joint wager to confirm vitterd's poker claim. After he read the thread he agreed that he wanted in. He is in law enforcement at the state level and believed that we had an easy $5,000 each if vit showed up with his tax returns as vit stated he would do in a prior bet with FZ in post 83 of this thread. My buddy told me that vit would either pull a no show or weasel out of the bet with some excuse. His exact words were:
Only a fool who won $1 million dollars would openly brag about it in a sports wagering forum even when baited by others...........or
Only a liar would openly brag about winning $1 million dollars in a sports wagering forum.
Vit, I won't play this little game with you anymore. I couldn't get past page 3 of this thread without feeling like a fool for falling into this little trap....and at the same time feeling sorry for you.
Just a little constructive piece of advice for you (or anyone who openly brags about taxable winnings). I would immediately stop talk of large winnings because I now know that this and other similar sites get visited periodically. The next time you get a request to discuss your prior tax returns, you may not be given an option. There is absolutely no reason you should be openly discussing winnings of any kind, even when a late 30 something Type A starts questioning your character.
If it makes you feel better, I am withdrawing my wager with you. You win, just be smart going forward
