Do we have at least 10 people with enough nerve for a $500 survivor contest. Winner take all?

I say for $ 500 and a relatively small pool of people, double elimination is the way to go

the last unbeaten poster gets 1K (stole this idea from Chop). If that person wins it all, he still gets the entire pot

I would also suggest that if we land more than 10 people, 2nd place gets $ 500 with 11 entries and 1k with 12 or more entries

I like the 2 strikes and your out with the condition that the person who goes the longest with no strikes gets a $1000.

This is the best of both worlds.

This makes the person who goes the longest without any strikes being the heavy favorite to win the whole thing anyway.

The person who goes the longest without losing is going to automatically also be the person that is the favorite to go the longest without 2 strikes so there is still a really good change that it will still be 1 person getting all the money.

So this eliminates the problem of someone losing $500 in week 1, and also keeps in play the chance of winning a really nice sum at the end of the contest.

The person who wins the longest without losing a game bet is going to be up on the rest of the field 1 to 0.

So the person who wins the 1st bet is going to be a huge fav to win the whole thing.

I think thats the way to go.
Its the best of both worlds.

I don't like the idea of paying any money to 2nd place.

Just the person who goes the longest without losing, and the person who goes the longest without getting 2 strikes.

I still want to keep in place the chance of 1 person winning all the money.

If you pay 2nd place that removes that possibility.

If it come down to the final 2 .. they can always agree to take a deal.. e.g. split 20 % of pot and play for the rest ...etc..

Thats up to the final 2 people and outside of the contest rules.
There is a difference in official rules, and handshake rules between 2 people.

If it gets down to 2 people and both people post in this thread they are willing to split between each other thats up to them.

But the only way to prevent people from losing $500 in week 1 is to agree on the 2 strike rule with the condition that the person who goes the longest getting a 1k bonus.

With only 10 or 15 people this thing could be over by week 5.

Im fine with chops idea. LOL

That makes yes for 4 of the six people that paid.
I think Willie said he likes that idea.
So that would be 5 out of 6.

For the people who like 1 strike and your out it still pays the same amount of money as it would if you win both bets.

If we do the 2 strike thing with a 1K bonus to the person who goes the longest with no strikes you still have the chance to win 100% of the pot.

I would say whoever wins the first bet has more then a 50% chance of winning both bets.

The only thing this 2 strike thing with bonus for the person who goes the longest without any strikes does is it lets anyone who gets knocked out in week 1 play at least 1 more week.

2 strikes is for pussies. One time buy back in for a loss in week 1, say $100 bucks. Only time you can buy back in is after week 1.

Actually, let me get this straight, is it 2 outs for the whole season or does it only pertain to week one? e.g. if I won week one but lose week 3, do I still have a chance to keep going due to 2 strikes or does the 2 strike only pertain to people who lose week 1?

I was going to join until the re-buying entered the discussion. This should be single elimination winner take all.
