Do we have at least 10 people with enough nerve for a $500 survivor contest. Winner take all?

Ok I'm signed up.
It was real easy to do.

So far I'm the prohibitive favorite to win the whole thing.

The yahoo Survivor site is great. I think that you might have to set up a yahoo E mail addy though. I set up a private contest there and people needed to have a yahoo email addy to join. Don't know if that's still true. Good luck whoever joins this one. I'm in a bunch of smaller Survivor Leagues, and would join any where the nut is $100 or less.

What I'm going to do to remove even more risk from this contest.

I will collect the first 5K
10 entires.
After the first 5k I'm going to let someone very reputable(hopefully BAS, Hache, or Willie99 hold the next 5K.
If we go above 10K I will get a 3rd person to hold the next 5K.

Does this sound like a good idea everyone?

ALSO since the buy in is so large on this contest.

Would any of you be interested in this being 2 strikes and your out instead of 1 strike and your out?

The software can be adjusted to where you have to lose twice instead of just once.

It would kind of suck to lose $500 in week 1.

Once we get some payments confirmed we can talk about stuff like this.

I think it needs to be discussed before money is paid

The only thing that needs to be discussed is if people want this to be 1 strike and you're out, or 2 strikes and you're out.

I think for $500 buy-in I'm leaning personally to 2 strikes and your out.
I would hate for someone who $500 is a nice chunk of money to lose $500 in week 1.

I want this to be fun for all involved.

Yes the ultimate goal is to make a nice payday, but also the goal is to have fun.

I want everyone to enjoy this contest and do this year after year.

So since the buy in is $500 2 strikes and your out may be the way to go on this contest.

But I'm all for majority rules.

I am also committed to me holding the first 10 entries then letting someone else who has proven in the past to be very reliable and trustworthy to hold the next 10 entries and so on.

Im sure I can probably sweet talk Willie99, BAS, or Hacheman into doing this.

I trust all 3 of those guys 100%.

They have held large sums of money in the past for contest with no problems.

I like 1 strike but am ok with either.

If it's 2 strikes how would tiebreakers work? What if one person made it through (very unlikely) and one person made it through with 1 strike?

I'm only really interested if this contest is capped at 10 people.

If that happened the person who had no strikes wins.
