After Lebron runs over the Bulls and whoever they play in the finals all of you guys will be jumping on the lebron wagon. When you're talking about pure talent and skill combined with all around game this guy is the best I've ever seen.

Obviously, you didn't watch basketball during the 80's and 90's. Because LBJ isn't even ahead of Magic and Larry, yet.

Gentlemen, the question is who is better MJ or Lebron. Throw out all stats, championships etc this is just a matter of opinion and my opinion is that if I had to start a team from scratch I would take Lebron not MJ.

Which means that you are one of the most clueless posters in this forum.

right ... throw out all the criteria that matters..

lebron is a freak and something the nba has never seen before , but that doesnt make him a better player than jordan , kobe, magic , bird , russell , akeem , oscar and probably a few others.

Ok, poor choice of words by me I agree, my point was if I had to choose one or the other I would choose Lebron.

Why do you guys gotta compare lebron to MJ? Why not just compare him to his current peers and say hes 1 of the best of all time if he can win some rings and keep on this trajectory?

Not sure whats gonna stop Miami this year but DHoward going to the right team could stop em in future years.

thank you. magic would have been a HOFer at any of the 5 positions. larry 84-86 might have been the best 3 year stretch ever (look at the players in that era, and won 3 straight mvps).

How has Lebron changed the way the game is played?? Wilt changed the way the game is played. Lebron?? I don't get it - no rules, no gameplanning has changed because of Lebron... he's a great player, who has the opportunity to be remembered as one of the best ever, but he has a ways to go. His physical stature does not make him equal to MJs ability and absolute killer instinct. Dude was stone cold.

I think a lot of people on this board hate the Heat and since Miami is handling their business right now the logical thing to say is "LeBron better than MJ? crazy!"

its just really the only way to try to take miami down a notch. People did the same thing to Kobe last few years.

This is a pretty simplistic way to explain a trend... i'm pretty sure i've called kobe cold blooded as well, because much like MJ i think he's just an assassin. their skill level, in all phases of the game, is so high. Lebron has yet to prove much, and while he puts up great stats, they don't match up with MJs or Kobe's as far as careers go, and he hasn't put anyone away like those two have. Just IMO. Its hard to compare, especially when someone says "lets throw out their careers and just take the snapshot of right now" - who can appreciate players this good, without being a player who is that good?

Celtic, I see your point. However, its a pretty simplistic way to explain a trend because it IS pretty simplistic. How people think tends to be simplistic. Was anyone saying Bron wasn't MJ 3 months ago? no because they didn't need to. They still had the idea that Boston or the Lakers would vanquish the Heat in the playoffs. Now that isn't happening and Dirk is pretty much the last vestige and its like "oh well he isn't as good as Jordan!" And yes people did do the same thing to Kobe, you know that I'm sure. Once Kobe won his 5 rings it was like well we can't say he can't win without Shaq anymore so now lets go onto the Jordan thing. Its like the last hope for the haters. Both Kobe and Bron are two of the best ever....

LeBron has been great in this playoffs and will likely go down as 1 of the best ever. Whether thats top 15-20 best ever or top 5 best ever we'll see.....

And for the record I understand why people don't like him...Doing "The Decision, talking about winning 8 rings and acting generally aloof tend to cause people to want to see you fail.

I still can't believe this discussion is going on.

MJ is considered the greatest basketball player of all time.

LeBron isn't even in the top ten (yet). I'm not even going to
waste my time trying to figure out if he's in the top 20.

Where he ends up, no one knows yet, it's too early to tell.

I'll say this....

Where Dwight Howard ends up deciding to play for the next 5 years probably determines LeBrons legacy as much as anything. Dwight for all his flaws is 1 of a kind in the NBA right now and if he goes to the right team it could definitely give the Heat problems.

I'm not from the school that such arguments can be won or lost, but I do like to play devil's advocate.

I'm pretty sure Labron has accomplished more than MJ did at his age. MJ didn't win chit for his 1st few years, and he was older when he entered the league.

I like both players.

Lebron is 26 - 8 seasons played

in the 5 seasons Before MJ's 27th bday he had won a NC at UNC , an NBA MVP, an NBA defensive player of the year , turned Nike into global force , had 3 seasons averaging 30+ as high as 37.1 ppg one year. (one season he was injured and only played 18 games)

i know you were just playin devils advocate but 37ppg in year 3 and he didnt do chit?
