You should have had me on board for this one! I knew that Cris wouldnt pay the guy. I mean 45 minutes for western union confirmation isnt that much time. ESPECIALLY if it is a credit card deposit!

Ask the guy if it was a credit card western union over the phone, or cash at a western union outlet.

Sending the money over the phone will give you the control number, but 90% of the time, they need to AT LEAST call you back and confirm that it is your credit card. Sometimes they want to ask all kinds of questions for a transfer of over $1000. So if this was the case, then WSEX COULD NOT have received the money in under 45 minutes. Maybe 1 hour is more like it

Can see the argument being made for the customers loyality...no question. However, I back CRIS 100% with their decision based on the facts mentioned here.

If he was conditioned to sending it at that time, why should he have been concerned? CRIS fumbled ...

CRIS screwed up period. Some of you are missing the point here . He never complanied about money with CRIS. His only complanit is poor customer service. 45 minutes prior is plenty of time, especially if he it was always doing it that way.

What is the big deal with this issue? One bettor, who as has been said would never have posted a complaint if the wager had lost, could not get down on a single game after apparently 5 YEARS OF LOYAL HAPPINESS at CRIS, doesn't wait until Mickey gets back to handle this issue with the book but emails the Rx straight away, and is outraged at ONE APPARENT INCIDENT of poor customer service, if the details are true. ONE CRUMMY INCIDENT, and CRIS is going to hell???

Yeah, that bonus thing I didn't like, but I have to tell you this is pretty damned weak to fuel excitement over supposedly bad customer service at a book, especially CRIS. Hey, I wouldn't have liked it either but for crying out loud, I wouldn't be running to Ma-

I think a lot of you guys are missing the point on this one. Not once did the guy say he wanted the money. All he did was state his concern over the customer service (or lack thereof) he received as a loyal customer. He states "I sent a Western Union cash transfer like I have always done around 45 minutes prior to the game I wanted to bet. " Why should he have any reason to think this time 45 minutes would not be enough time?? Plus... it sounds like CRIS had his money the whole time they claimed there was a bad control # ("Well, let's say that I called Western Union and after giving the info, I was told that the money had already been picked up. "). CRIS screwed up this time. I don't care how great they are and how much everybody loves them, they should have known better than to treat a 5 year customer like crap.

Let me shed some light here.

I used to used the same WU guy that CRIS did. 95% of the deposits/withdrawals would be clear in 15 minutes. Sometimes you could get them cleared in as little as 5 minutes. Great service. The guy was in CR.

Now CRIS, along with many other books, have to use a service out of Belize. You guy notice you are sending to Belize? I can tell you we consider ourselves blessed if it clears in 20 minutes. I would say normally it takes 1 hour. I have seen 5 hours.

The people in Belize don't know how to do searches via WU very well. I've had good customers send in 5 dimes. 45 minutes later they want in on the game. Customer service is only as good as the info they get provided. I've had belize tell me, not only isn't it cleared yet, the money doesn't exist. It doesn't show up in the system. I've gone on western unions website myself and checked it and told them, Umm it says you picked it up. Please hold.

I know Gary personally. He is a good guy and will bend over backwards to help someone.

I've told belize myself they better get their act straight. How do you think a 5 dime bettor that has been with you for 3 years feels when someone tells them they are lying?

I've had to make those judgement calls in the past and I've always ended up on the right side of the line. Knock on wood. But I know that won't always be the case.

Gary was working with the information he had right at the moment. Unfortunately it was the wrong info.

Nice point Jizzosh, And to JJ - shut up. You are the biggest Cris shill there is. As I have said in other posts - Cris has slipped. Period. They are still a solid good place to play. Very few dispute that. But they are not what they once were. People just don't care as much nowadays. Money is all that matters to them. Customer service and treating people right is a lost thing in this world. And Cris is just another example of that.

I do not play at Cris but I know a great book when I see one. If you win 100 dimes there you get paid like clockwork and fast.

Good Luck

I had a VERY similar situation w/Olympic except it was my first post up with them. They took my wager. It won. I got paid.

Anybody who deals in WU regularly has a WU agent that pulls them within SECONDS. Kiss my ass with your 15min BS.

When WU types it into their system at the payee terminal....it's in. That means, it's there before you can push 10 digits on a phone.

Gary was full of sh!t.

This is hilarious. I love watching
agenda vs agenda with little actual
concern over who is right and who is
wrong. This place gets to be more of
a freakshow every day.

Lou, you think it shows up in the system immediately? Even with cash for small amounts it still takes a few minutes to show up. If it is a large amount, a couple of dimes or more, WU holds the transaction for awhile. Credit card transactions always take 45 mins to 1 hour. If they send a large amount with a credit card you are looking at several hours.
