Would you like to wager that Tex Tech was a dog(+3) against Ok St last year?

You are right they were favored by three. That sure came into play. They won by 36 so there was value all the way up to 35. Moot point.

GS - fair and balanced

This is a plus for Georgia. On philsteele.com's daily blog they have an atricle and according to that on the average teams have a home winning % that is 23.7 percent greater than their away winning %. Georgia has only a -1.8% difference so they are traditionally a good road club. I thought I would throw that in there in the spirit of Bill O'reilly. But as I said early I am not sure Richt has made a road trip under these circumstances before with a an inexperienced QB, etc. I just wanted you to know that I do look at both sides. I am not married to OSU but I like them in this situation.

I would say very simply that OSU is a much better team now than the one Georgia beat in 2007 (35-14 at Georgia). That ironically was also a week one debut for both teams. That OSU team lost to S. Carolina the next week in Stillwater and went on to win their next 8 out of 9.
Oklahoma State BEAT Florida Atlantic(Howard Schnellenberger) the week after Geogia. Then they went 5-5. They had to beat Baylor just to play in a bowl game(Indiana). Are you just making this stuff up? LMFAO

No just distracted at work. I guess my page got flipped over to Georgia. Hard to do at work. Actually that detracts more from from the 2007 win as far as Georgia is concerned. OSU is much better now than then. I don't think there is necessarily any kind of revenge factor I think this game stands on it's own merits. Actually there is another scenario I was going to bring up. Steele points out that in 2005 DJ Shockley led Geo to the SEC title in his only year as a starter. So Georgia does have a similar scenario in its recent history. I guess we will see if history repeats itself.
I did not make that up.

Thank God you have a real job! All we need on this site is another Phil Steele convert. :):)

It amazes me how much passion is shown on these gambling sites by people backing a certain"side." So many factors are used in formulating a line, that most of these verbal wars are simply useless. Remember this. In today's wagering climate(huge line movement over KEY #s), either the opening or closing number is going to be right, or land somewhere in between. It is your job to find VALUE no matter what side or sides(see--middle) you are on. There are many outlandish statements made during the course of a season backing a side, but try and be civil and respect everyone's point of view. Regardless what you think, it is still gambling with a ball that takes some funny bounces. Good Luck

Agree. I've been reading this site for greater than 5 years and posting here nearly 4.5 years. There always has been and probably always will be some people getting bent out of shape because another bettor has backed a side which they disagree. However, a couple new faces here this summer really don't seem to understand that honest people sometimes see things differently and disagree.

Also, I believe you might be a bit bored this summer, for I don't recall ever seeing you this active and involved in a thread.

Russ, I gotta tell ya that with some of your posts, especially for a newer poster, you have really put yourself in the spotlight for the upcoming fall season.

These gambling forums, by far, have the most critical bunch of people anyplace on the planet. Even if you posted 70% winners here this year, for some it won't even be good enough for a hat tip.

Not sure what they feed you guys down there in Okla, but you folks sure must do alot of gambling. Okla is more represented here at the rx college football forum this summer than any state relative to its' population.

Good luck.

Woof...Have you been to Oklahoma lately? All there is to do here is gamble. I've been lurking on this board since 2003 and posting since 2004 when I was the only Okie around here. I can't be held responsible for the views, comments or opinions made by the other hillbillies who have momentarily left their moonshine stills to come out of the woods and join the gambling forum fray.

Or their meth houses, or from recently sniffing their paint sprayed bottles, or from drinking so much that they have pulled the scrotum sack off their buddy's balls . . . . .

Seems like a perfectly normal response when a Texas Longhorn fan walks into a bar in Oklahoma and talks bad about our Sooners.
That was classic . . . . . . .

Well let's see here. These guys pick their games (717 in all) and make their picks in July running simmulated games on their computer. They hit 52%. I here 55% thrown around like it is plucking the golden ring on the merry go round. These guys have a documented ATS and archive that goes back several years. Now I don't know about you but I do not pick 717 plays in college football every year. I think that their ATS record in light of the excessive amount of picks they made is extraordainary. What would your record have been if you would have played that many games?
So I guess the point is that 55% is not so great afterall.

I think that what GS meant was that until some other Okies came along he and BS thought they had the only still and meth lab in Oklahoma. Well we grow our own grapes and make our own wine down here now and the only drugs I do are for my cholesterol. I did not get on this forum looking for a hat tip just payout vouchers. Never been on a forum before just thought I would check it out. I did some research and put it on a thread and enough people have contacted me thanking me to more than compensate for those that have their own agenda. I have never walked gently in my 63 years and can see no reason to try to be something online that I am not in real life.

I see that they claim a 54% record, but haven't hit 55% since 2001.

Truth is you don't really know what a good ATS rate is. You've already said you've never kept records, so you don't have an idea of what you may or may not have picked any time in your alleged 40 years of sports betting.

So you're like the guy new to betting who thinks "that sounds too low."

We'll be looking for the winners all season, starting in September.

Also, I agree you don't walk gently since you recently posted that if you were "only a 55% bettor you would find other things to do with your time than betting", and "you could not get by with 55% betting".

I'll wager ANY amount(no limit) that you can't pick 58 out of 100 ATS. I'll post up the money tomorrow.

I guess you are a no limit kind of guy huh. Really not interested but I will put my picks on here for all to see (at least enough to hit 58%). How much credit do I get for a 5 teamer?
