Chris, I am with you on Schalke too... Don't think Porto will keep it close today with Kuranyi and Schalke. Hope we win that one.

MA, out of curiosity.. Did you know Inter was a man down when you took them second half?

Yes I did, Mr.Kid. Trust me, I wasn't the only clown on the "+0.5 Inter - second half". Thought they would lock-it up defensively and play for the scoreless draw. This notion might seem unacceptable to many, but been around this game - in one form or another - for over 35 years, and won't hesitate to make that same play with any team as exceptional as Inter. Red cards are part of the game, and Inter fought valiantly for over an hour. Nonetheless, many are pointing fingers at Mancini. Should have taken, and accepted, the 1-0 nil loss. Come back home with a decent shot on the return leg. Instead you press forward, thinking you are in Serie A, where everything has been rosy.
A 2-0 nil loss on the first leg is a trip to the grave yard for the return leg.
LIVER will undoubtably play the infamous 4-5-1, and patiently frustrate Inter at midfield, because this is the only way to beat them. Now we will see what they are really made of, playing the return leg at home under the watchful eye of a non-italian referee, who couldn't care less how much the team is worth on paper.
Good luck to you.

yah, I get what you are saying. Just thought it was a ballsy play going against Pool when you have ten men, wanted to get your point of view on it. Plus if you ask me, you were on the right side of the play, just got unlucky with the last 5 minutes. Personally I want to take the under for the return leg

Were you watching the same game? Sorry MA lost his wager there but to say he was on the right side is wrong. Liverpool were all over them the entire second half and had several great opportunities (Torres shot fingered away just wide, Hyppia free header from close range, Viera's handball in the box) before they finally got the goal, albeit late on. Inter hardly touched the ball in the half, it was a truly pitiful performance from Inter.

Having said that I still believe Inter can reverse the deficit...

How do you suppose they manage that? What happens if by some stroke of midfield prowess and luck, Liverpool scores the first goal. What? Inter roars back with 3 or 4 unanswered goals.

They had to close the door at 1-0...

I actually think the 2nd half play was solid. Judging by Liverpools first half performance, and their general level of play throughout the years, it was a decent idea. They lack any creativity whatsoever, and pace in the wide positions. Sure they had all the possession, but they weren't making much of it. They were unlucky to have Materazzi sent off, and then concede the goals after their other centre-half Cordoba got injured.
