16 February

Start time : 09:15 PM PST

World Championship 20km Individual PyeongChang

Aleksander Os vs Lars Berger

My pick is Aleksander Os to finish ahead

Odds : - 195

Where : pinnaclesports

4.87 units to win 2.5 units

Berger might be able to make up 1 error but this should be about it , he is most likely to make over 7 errors himself .

16 February

Start time : 09:15 PM PST

World Championship 20km Individual PyeongChang

Halvard Hanevold vs Maxim Tchoudov

My pick is Maxim Tchoudov to finish ahead

Odds : - 140

Where : pinnaclesports

3.5 units to win 2.5 units

Maxim won one of the two 20 km races this season , looks to be in good shape with silver medal in pursuit and only 3 error to 5 errors of Hanevold . I think Tchoudov will be able to make up 1 error in running if needed on him .

Not bad I would say:

Hallenbarter over Maric @ 1.70
Landertinger over Stephan @ 1.70
Wolf over Tcherezov @ 2.00
Os over Hanevold @ 2.00

Two parlays:
Os over Roesch / Hallenbarter over Maric /

Cool, finally found some time to do decent research:

Medvedtseva over Boulygina @ 1.75
- Boulygina finished 1.09 ahead in the 7.5 km due to 2 errors of Medvedtseva. 3 errors less in the pursuit made Med come back and overtake Bouly by 29 seconds. I would say they are pretty equal considering those circomstances, but I will give the advantage to Medvedtseva.

Henkel over Zaitseva @ 1.65
- Zaitseva did pretty good so far with two top 3 places, however, Henkel was only 28 seconds behind her with 2 more errors in the opening race. After she was disqualified for the pursuit she will be even more determined to perform well today and will beat Zaitseva by her skating skills.

Olofsson over Bailly @ 1.50
- Olofsson was only 10 seconds behind with 2 more errors after the opening race. Being the better skater she also shot better in the pursuit and overtook Bailly with more than 3 minutes.

Domracheva over Makarainen @ 1.65
- Domracheva failed in the opening race and was still only 1 minute behind Makarainen with 3 more errors. In the pursuit they both shot at the same level (2 errors) and Domracheva was able to come back up to only 2 seconds behind Makarainen. This time it will be Domracheva that will be in front.

Tofalvi over Khvostenko @ 1.85
- Tofalvi is by far the better skater here. She made one more mistake in the opening race, but finished in front with 22 seconds. In the pursuit she made 3 (!!!!) more errors than Khvostenko, but still finished 25 seconds in front of her. Probably she will have to make up for her errors again, but she's able to do so.

Berger over Jonsson @ 2.30
- Well, one of the toughest here, but I am confident. Jonsson was one minute in front of Berger after the opening race and went on to win the pursuit. Berger improved her ranking from 19 to 9 and was only 1.15 behind Jonsson this time. In total (2 races) Berger made 2 more errors, but she was able to keep the gap almost the same. I see her in front of Jonsson this time.

Wilhelm over Beck @ 1.62
- Super Kati is going to be good again and can make up for her mistakes. Hopefully she's not going to miss another 6 times this time. She outskates Beck easily, but too many chokes at the rifle can cost her the ranking.

Brunet over Ponza @ 1.75
- Brunet was 1.16 behind Ponza (3 more errors) after the opening race, but came back in the pursuit to a good 7th position without making any errors in that race. Ponza only made 2 and improved from 17 to 13th place. They are pretty equal in strength, but I believe Brunet will be inspired by her great form from the pursuit and at least win against Ponza.

Too bad I already staked all my money in my other bookie, so I am stuck with Bwin on this matter, resulting in limited options.
I will play Medvedtseva, Tofalvi, Berger and Brunet as singles and I will have a parlay with Henkel, Olofsson, Domracheva, Tofalvi and Wilhelm

I am doing research atm , so far only took Olofsson over Bailly . I hope you know that in this race you get 1 extra minute added to your time for every miss so its very unlikely someone will make up more than 1 miss on their opponent .

Hmmm, you're right, actually I totally forgot about checking that. Stupid movement, spending quite some time in the research and then making this mistake. Checking my bets I feel unsure about Tofalvi, Berger and Wilhelm now, but we will see, maybe they start shooting at their best.

Khvostenko one of the best shooters in business but she will lose minute and something on Tofalvi so as long as the romanian doesn't make 2 errors more she should be fine .

i couldnt find too much value for today.
girls are too inconsistent with their shooting.

My only real plays are

Hitzer over Bailly @ 2.20

Rogstadt over Bouligyna @ 1.90

i have several leans, where i see a very close race and going with the dogs, but probably better not to play it.

Medvedseva over Zaidsova
Beck over WIlhelm
Ponza over Khvostenko
Berger over Domracheva

BOL anyway with your plays

I thought about Medvedseva over Zaitseva as well , at + 135 worth a try I think . In pursuit 6 vs 3 errors .
Ponza , Khvostenko , Brunet , Levchenkova and Jonnson are all on almost same level in shooting so it would be probably not wise to bet on them in head to head against each other but could be profitable taking them as underdogs against higher ranked girls who could miss some today , I thought about Zaitseva and maybe Wilhelm .

I should stop whining, my research led to a total sweep, eventhough a minute was added for every error instead of an extra lap.

Medvedtseva over Boulygina @ 1.75 + 0.75 units
Tofalvi over Khvostenko @ 1.85 + 0.85 units
Berger over Jonsson @ 2.30 + 1.30 units
Brunet over Ponza @ 1.75 + 0.75 units

Parlay: + 11.24 units
Henkel over Zaitseva @ 1.65
Olofsson over Bailly @ 1.50
Domracheva over Makarainen @ 1.65
Tofalvi over Khvostenko @ 1.85
Wilhelm over Beck @ 1.62

Total: +14.89 units

That was nice indeed :) I wish I had a parlay with all 8 of them though... or maybe a Goliath :)

what exactly are the rules for today s mixed relay?
is it a normal relay, with everybody having one prone and standing shooting?

Mixed relay
The most recent addition to the number of biathlon competition variants, the mixed relay, is similar to the ordinary relay but for the composition of the teams, each of which consists of two women and two men. Legs 1 and 2 are done by the women, legs 3 and 4 by the men. The women legs are 6 km and men legs are 7,5 km as in ordinary relay competitions.

I fancy Russia to win today , its their best chance for gold .
