Bucks -10.5 (-110), 2*

I was due for a bad night I guess. The Spurs are terrible. Let’s hope a loss last night motivates Milwaukee to take this game seriously. If they do, this should be a blowout. GL

I don’t care how good Giannis and Lilliard are. The Bucks have to figure things out on defense. Change the rotations or the philosophy. Go get a defensive minded player at the deadline like Thybulle. Their backcourt defense is bad. Middleton’s lateral movement is compromised to some degree. Lopez has come back to earth in that regard as well. We know Lilliard isn’t stopping anyone. I hope that team can figure it out because they are lost on that end of the court for stretches of games.

I lean Denver for what it’s worth. I’m sure Golden State will be up for the game, but they are going to have a really hard time defending Jokic. If Denver shoots a reasonable percentage from three, the Warriors are in trouble.

Magic +10.5 (-110), 2*

If the Magic are ever going to keep it close in Denver, today should be the day. Orlando has the rest advantage, as the Nuggets played last night. Not only did they play, but they emptied the bucket until literally the last second of the game against Golden State. I would not be surprised if Denver rested someone, possibly Murray. Orlando has not beaten a top four team in either conference since late November, but we don’t need them to win this game. Just use their young, fresher legs to be competitive. I am taking a risk here by betting this early on. Orlando could have two important guys absent from shootaround due to illnesses. I think it is more likely this line goes down based on perceived fatigue for Denver, or if they rest 1-2 players. I will wait to bet anything else until we know actives and inactives. GL

I was hoping Brooks or Eason would return for Houston, but I still think the Rockets are worth a bet at this number. GL

Nice outright win from Houston. Still going strong here in 2024. Usually my attention is on the NFL on Sunday’s. If I have time, I will look into tomorrow’s action and see if there are any bets I want to make.

Bucks -2.5 (-105), 2*

Great spot for the Bucks, horrible spot for Boston. Milwaukee has lost 4 of 5 and are coming off a loss to Utah. Lilliard is back in the lineup and the team is in desperate need of a statement win or just a win in general to get some positive momentum going. Meanwhile, Boston is playing the second of a back to back and third game in four nights. Overtime game at home last night and now they travel to Milwaukee. Horford is out as usual when they play two nights in a row. The Celtics will be up for the game, I just think they could run out of gas against what should be a very motivated Bucks squad. Good luck.

Mavericks +4.5 (-108), 2*

Same thought process as the Atlanta bet last night. Often when a team’s best player or multiple important players are out, people bet the other side because they think that team is at a huge disadvantage. While the Mavs would love Luka to play, this gives a chance for Kyrie, Hardaway Jr. and the role players to get elevate their game and get more opportunities. The Knicks are on a run since they got Anunoby and everyone loves them right now. Keep in mind, those last four wins were against the Bulls, Wizards, Blazers and Embiid-less 76ers. I will bet the side nobody wants to and live with the results.

Bucks were the lock of the week. What a great spot for them. Wish I bet more on the game lol. I like Durant over 26.5 points against the Lakers. I think we get a motivated Durant. He hears the outside noise about the team underachieving. I know he’s upset about the report that came out saying he’s annoyed Beal has missed so many games and his supporting cast isn’t good enough. He literally spoke to Fox Sports and said it was BS that someone reported that. I believe he will have a big game tonight and am going to throw a few bucks on over 26.5 points. Not an official play, but it is something I will have a little action on. Let’s hope Dallas keeps rolling and get this 2-0 night.

A couple more easy winners tonight. +22 units on the year. I say +22 because a 2* bet with my old number system is a one unit bet. I know it’s dumb and I changed it when I started my college basketball thread. But all you have to do is take the number I’m up and divide it by 2.

For tomorrow, I think I will have a couple bets. The Blazers team total under is one I am strongly considering. Second of a back to back on the road against one of the best defensive teams in the league isn’t exactly a recipe for success.

Blazers Team Total under 101.5 (-115), 2*
Spurs -2.5 (-108), 2*
Jazz -2.5 (-112), 2*

I want to bet Portland +16. That seems like too many points. This feels like a potential 110-99 game or something in that range. With that said, I can’t do it. Between Sharpe and Ayton being out and the performance they had last night, I will pass. I am going to bet Denver closer to tip. Once Zion, Ingram, McCollum and Murphy are all officially in, I think that line could drop another half or full point. Denver is coming off a really bad showing which makes this a good bounce back spot for them. Lastly, on the Spurs/Hornets game, I like fading teams who are getting their star player back in game one as I have mentioned in the past. Ball is making his return tonight, but I think it could take him some time to get in the groove with his teammates. It’s not like Charlotte was great with him either. I will add the Denver game in a couple hours. Good luck.

I guess this number is going to hold at 5.5. Good first halves in the Blazers and Spurs games. Let’s hope those scores hold.
