It’s hard to replace the greatest QB of all time
Agree completely. Mac Jones was the fifth QB taken because the #15 draft pick was the highest draft pick the Patriots ever had in the Belichick era.

It's also gonna be hard to replace the greatest coach of all time. Wherever he lands with will be immediately upgraded. If it's a contender (just like when Brady went to a stacked TBy team) they will be close to SB favorites.

The guy is not done as so many have postured. Too old my ass.

Joe,
The question should be If Bill can coach football at all...if he went to a non-scripted league.

I kinda see a CM Punk outcome for Bill.

I could be wrong here...

But Kraft wanted to keep Brady and Bill wanted to move on...

Kraft gave Bill the rope because of Bill's accomplishments and the respect he had for him...

He then watches Tom win another super bowl and to even leave when still on top of his game.

Pats haven't won a play off game since. Point being if u go against what ur boss thought was right and he gave you that rope u better be right. Bill hung himself and Kraft was left thinking he was right all along.

Bill is probably still coach if Tom had just retired.

He won. he led them to glory . Who was the coach of that TB team?

not saying a coach isnt a factor in a team's success . Not at all. And Belichick record/longevity speaks for yourself. Of course its a team sport, but success in the NFL is heavily depnedant on the QB position. Way moreso than other team sports like soccer/hockey.

take the elite qb all day long

That Tampa team was good, but it wasn’t like Durant joining the Warriors

Brady was the one who elevated that team
Brady took the Patriot playbook and Gronk to a stacked team and won the SB.

Good for him.

Still not winning anything on a middle to lower tier team.

Actually he had the most famous go for it on 4th and 1 in NFL history against the colts and Peyton manning on MNF when they were up 1 point at their own 35 with less then 2 mins left .

It was 100% the correct move even though they did not get the 1st down and lost the game

So yes he did go for it on 4th back when he had a QB to make it an optimal decision

Wtf are u talking about? NFL scripted that Tampa SB!

Didn't u watch the packers kick a fg with 2 min to go and down 8?

Laughable how dense u are. What else it the TV telling u? Lol

I could be wrong here, but Brady wanted Garoppolo gone. Some insecurity crept in for Brady, And so he got Kraft to win that battle against Bill.

This is true
There is no question BB wanted Brady gone and JG installed

Turned down 2 1st round draft picks the year before for JG

And then the very next year basically gave him away to his buddy for 1 2nd round pick

Yeah. I remember that.

If Jimmy G had set the world on fire Bill might have been given even more rope....but he turned into Jimmy G

Coaches shouldn't be GMs in today's game(imo)

Just more work then one guy can handle to be on top of both. As ur doing one ur sacrificing the other. Too many guys now to great doing one or the other for 1 guy to beat both....

Yeah. That is just another strike against Bill.

Tom was still great and Jimmy was/is hot garbage and Bill wanted to replace him with that...

Depends what/who you define as "elite"
fair point, and im not the guy to ask as dont watch much and certainly no qb expert . But 3 names ive seen enough times to call them elite are: Mahomes , Allen , L Jackson . Lamar physically can do shit others simply cant . Seems to have matured ..success in the playoffs? we shall see

Rooting for Buff success being so close to Toronto.....

buff never should have lost that playoff game in KC a few yrs back, fuckin brutal

Joe running away from an argument. How many have seen that?

Must be in deep research to my questions. Can Joe tell us the life/death of Hamlin and can Joe "figure this shit out" of who the current USA president is...

Is Belicheck a great football coach or the CM Punk of scripted sports?

Now we wait and see on the resident genius.

“Bill had told me he couldn’t play anymore,” Kraft said after Brady won the title, per ESPN, “and then he goes out and wins the fucking Super Bowl.”

This is actually a very funny quote but does need a bit of context.

Yes, Tom Brady won a SuperBowl on a stacked team after he left the Pats, which infuriated Kraft, but Tom was done immediately after that.

Belichick was off by a year. He wasn't wrong.
