It's yet another example against the claim that gays are born that way, even though there has been no (or very little) scientific evidence to support that contention.

Not really an example.

You know girls kissing girls is fashionable nowadays? Lots of girls do it for popularity or giggles.

Others really do it because of real attraction.

FZ I hate to be the one who has to tell you this, but you were born gay.

It's not your fault.

You are reaching good sir.

We could post countless examples of people who have come out as gay later in life and say they've known all along they were gay.

You don't really think that way do you? Serious question. Please explain to me and help me understand why you think people would choose to live a life where they are constantly ridiculed, mistreated, and discriminated against.

I'm just saying that people that definitively state (like it's a known scientific fact) that people are born gay aren't relying on medical or scientific evidence, they're just saying what they want to believe. You've done it many times yourself Justin. Check out identical twin studies with regards to homosexuality. Why do you have identical twins where one is gay and the other isn't?

I'm not so sure these tests are reliable either. Who's to say the supposed straight twin isn't lying to cover up his/her homosexulaity? It happens all of the time in real life. Why not in a study too to protect their reputation or for other reasons...

FZ I challenge you to talk to 5 gay people and ask them about this topic. I would bet any amount of money you have never had an in depth conversation about anything with a gay person. I promise you if you do that you will have a whole new understanding on why they are the way they are. You love studies so this will give you a chance to do your own study. How does that sound?

How much would you like to bet?

I used to live with a gay guy in a one bedroom apartment. He was without a place to stay, so I let him sleep on my fold-out couch.

That is just one example, I've had a lot of in-depth conversations with gay people. I also know a bunch who have left the lifestyle and have never gone back. One guy was a gay slut throughout college (we went to college together), and he left the lifestyle after graduation and got married - and now he has grand-kids.

Yeah... I know, he's still gay right?

Because if you're gay and you go straight, you're still gay, and if you're straight and you go gay - well you were gay all along. Sigh.

FZ I can't even begin to tell you how wrong you are on this. 100% wrong. So with all the in depth conversations with gay people you have had not 1 of them said to you that they have always just been attracted to men? Everyone of them told you that they are choosing to be gay? Lmao. I don't believe that for a second.

I'm not wrong, I've cited both scientific facts, and personal experience. Don't you think that they have been desperately trying to find a gay gene for decades?

I know lots of people that have left the gay lifestyle and are happy well-adjusted heteros, and have been for years. Why do you choose to deny their experience?

Just let him be bourn. It's pretty clear from this thread that 99% of the posters agree with you. I'm sure zit is a perfectly nice guy, but he is deeply entrenched into some misguided viewpoints on homosexuality that no one is every going to change here

Im sure there are plenty of gay people that choose to be gay. I acknowledge that. Why someone would choose to be gay I have no idea but I understand it exists. My point is that MOST gay people are not choosing to be gay. Just on this past 45 minutes or whatever I have texted 3 girls to ask their opinion who have gay friends. All 3 say they are born that way. I've talked to many gay people in my life and all of them will tell you they were born gay. Honestly, I don't care to argue this topic anymore. I almost feel like you want to just disagree because your argument is ridiculous. Who in their right mind would subject themselves to alienation from parents, family, friends, etc. not to mention the increased possibility of getting AIDS. There is no logic to why someone would choose that lifestyle. I don't know what else to say other than you're wrong.

So you do concede that some people choose to be gay. Whew, at least there is someone in here that is honest.

You keep saying I'm wrong, but you've not even pointed out what statement I've said that is wrong, nor have you shown any evidence that disproves said statement.

Actually 99% of posters don't agree that people are born gay, but maybe if you keep repeating your little fairy tales you can convince someone?

I don't know enough about gay people but it is hard for me to comprehend someone choosing to be gay.

Fuck, if I could marry someone who plays golf, poker, gambles on sports, and knows the proper way to stroke a dick.....who wouldn't choose that? but i am just not attracted to dudes....i'm sure there are so many other people with different levels of preference so i guess it is possible. But if you are a girl competing against a bi-sexual dude, I have to think that girl has zero chance

Citing ‘exploding’ HIV epidemic, WHO says for first time all gay men should take antitretroviral drugs

At the height of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s, images of gaunt victims flooded publications and television, igniting a global awareness campaign that would eventually help winnow the annual number of new infections by one-third in the past decade. But those victories have also lulled the general population into a sense of complacency, the World Health Organization warned late last week.
“We are seeing exploding epidemics,” said Gottfried Hirnschall, who leads WHO’s HIV department, according to Agence France-Presse.
Those at the most at risk of being infected — transgender people, men who have sex with men, prisoners, sex workers and people who inject drugs — account for nearly half of new HIV infections worldwide. And because of social or legislative discrimination, they’re also often the least likely to access HIV prevention and treatment centers.
“None of these people live in isolation,” Hirnschall said. “Sex workers and their clients have husbands, wives and partners. Some inject drugs. Many have children. Failure to provide services to the people who are at greatest risk of HIV jeopardizes further progress against the global epidemic and threatens the health and well-being of individuals, their families and the broader community.”
So now, for the first time, the WHO is strongly recommending that men who have sex with other men consider antiretroviral medications to help prevent HIV infection. The approach, called pre-exposure prophylaxis, calls for the noninfected to take a preventive pill every day.
With such treatment, the United Nations organization predicts HIV incidence among gay men would ultimately fall by as much as 25 percent — and avert close to 1 million infections over the next decade. “Rates of HIV infection among men who have sex with men remain high almost everywhere and new prevention options are urgently needed,” the WHO said on Friday.
The likelihood a gay man will become infected is approximately 19 times greater than the general population, the agency reported. But this is not the only at-risk demographic. Female sex workers, WHO estimates, are 14 times more likely to have HIV than other women. And the most high-risk groups are transgender women and intravenous drug users, who are 50 times more likely to be infected than the general population.

Among the biggest problems with plans to combat HIV: They’re not targeted enough. “There are significant gaps in addressing [high-risk group] needs in national HIV plans,” WHO said. It reported 30 percent of countries don’t have any policies to address the risk gay men face — and the same goes for transgender people, who often don’t even warrant a mention in some countries.
Many related problems are rooted in discrimination. Being gay is criminal in 77 countries. Many of those nations — 38 — are in Africa, where large swaths of some populations are already infected with HIV. For instance, homosexuality is against the law in Botswana, where a staggering 23 percent of residents aged 15 to 49 are suffering from HIV.
“Bold policies can deliver bold results,” said Rachel Baggaley of the WHO’s HIV Department. “Data show that where a combination of effective HIV prevention and treatment services for people who inject drugs are available, HIV transmission among people who inject drugs is minimal.”

Face the truth Justin, everything I said was 100% factual.

"
In its new recommendations for combatting the HIV/AIDS pandemic, published Friday, the UN health agency therefore for the first time “strongly recommends men who have sex with men consider taking antiretroviral medicines as an additional method of preventing HIV infection”.
US authorities made the same recommendation in May.
Taking pre-exposure prophylaxis medication, for instance as a single daily pill combining two antiretrovirals, in addition to using condoms, has been estimated to cut HIV incidence among such men by 20-25 percent, WHO said, stressing that this could avert “up to one million new infections among this group over 10 years”.
The new guidelines also focus on other high-risk groups, pointing out that men who have sex with men, transgender people, prisoners, people who inject drugs and sex workers together account for about half of all new HIV infections worldwide."
